A former military craft used to patrol local territories in the time before the Empire, the Razor Crest serves as the trusty transport and living quarters for the Mandalorian and the Child, as they travel from world to world, staying out of reach of the Imperial Remnant.
These creatures are called purrgil, and they were introduced to a galaxy far, far away in Star Wars Rebels. Purrgil are able to travel through hyperspace by simu-tunnels, a.k.a. hyper tunnels, and in fact, it was the purrgil that inspired sentient beings to create lightspeed technology.

Jango Fett was a renowned Mandalorian bounty hunter, assassin, mercenary, and the father of Boba Fett, a genetic clone of his, whom he raised as a son. A Human from Concord Dawn, Fett was adopted by Mandalorian warriors following the murder of his parents and the disappearance of his older sister Arla in 58 BBY.
Jetpacks were also worn by Wookiee Berserkers, elite jet and blaze troopers, and Clone Commander Cody during the Clone Wars. Cad Bane also used them during the war, as well as the dreaded bounty hunter Durge.
Tarre Vizsla was a Force-sensitive human male who, was inducted into the Jedi Order around 1050 BBY, becoming the first Mandalorian to do so. Tarre eventually became a famous Jedi Knight. Vizsla created the Darksaber during his time as a Jedi.
Mandalorian tradition identified the jetpack as the art of the Rising Phoenix. Mandalorian factions such as Death Watch used jetpacks against their enemies. The Republic's Grand Army's clone troopers would use jetpacks to assist them in their missions.

They also developed a new fighting style that would allow them to wield their arsenal with the expert skill they require. After Mandalorians started slaying Jedi Knights, their reputation grew. They became the most feared warriors in the galaxy all over again, but their battles continued to rage.

The Mandalorian and his allies seek help from the Mandalorian's tribe, only to find Imperials have wiped out the covert. They find the tribe's leader, the Armorer, who formally adopts the Child into the Mandalorian culture as a foundling.
And with the Darksaber now in the hands of Mando himself following the Mandalorian Season 2 finale, it's safe to say this blade will continue to play a big part in the series and spinoffs like The Book of Boba Fett.
