The film ends with the appearance of Bruce Willis's character, David Dunn, from Unbreakable, who makes a comment in reference to the previous film, placing Unbreakable and Split within the same narrative universe.
Due to being abused while she was young, she has become emotionally withdrawn because of her uncle, who was sexually and physically abusive towards her. Her life was turned upside Down again after she was taken - alongside Claire Benoit and Marcia - by Kevin's 'Dennis' personality.
The scars elucidate that both of them were abused as children, which exempts her from the beast's quest for an erasure of those who, according to him, live with a delusional sense of safety (Shyamalan, Blum, Bienstock, & Shyamalan, 2016).
After cornering her, the Beast began to use its incredible strength to break the metallic bars, and saw Casey's scars on her body, causing The Beast to spare her life, realizing that Casey was, in its sickening view, a kindred spirit of sorts.

Kevin's mother failed to protect him from abuse and neglect, either due to her own damaged state or her lack of interest in fulfilling her role as a caregiver [1]. Her abusive behavior and neglectful actions contributed to Kevin's trauma and likely exacerbated his psychological struggles.
Night Shyamalan's Split drew inspiration from the real life court case of Billy Milligan. Milligan's landmark verdict of not guilty based on Dissociative Identity Disorder still captures public interest today. Shyamalan's portrayal of DID in Split is based on Milligan's case but takes many creative liberties.
So the Beast does indeed emerge – McAvoy becomes ultra strong, his skin gets super hard, he gains the ability to climb impossible walls (somewhat unconvincingly) and his voice gets even creepier. And he does indeed completely eviscerate and eat two of the girls.
Glass is a 2019 superhero film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, who also produced with Jason Blum, Marc Bienstock, and Ashwin Rajan. The film is a crossover and sequel to Shyamalan's previous films Unbreakable (2000) and Split (2016) and the third and final installment in the Unbreakable trilogy.
Dr. Fletcher awakens long enough to write out Kevin's full name on a piece of paper before "The Beast" returns and kills her. "The Beast" then attacks and devours Claire and Marcia.
Kevin as "Dennis" knocked out Mr. Benoit and kidnapped three teenage girls, Casey Cooke, Claire Benoit, and Marcia, knocking them out with chloroform before taking them in an underground bunker of the Philadelphia Zoo, intending to use them as food for "The Beast".
John grooming Casey for sexual abuse. John Cooke is the secondary antagonist of the 2016 horror-thriller film Split, the second installment in the Eastrail 177 film trilogy. He is the sexually abusive uncle of protagonist Casey Cooke.
She shows the Beast scars incurred from cutting herself, and it recognizes in her some sort of kindred spirit, leaving her alive and rushing off into the night. The final beat we get with Casey is an emergency worker's reassurance that her uncle is there to pick her up.
Split was met with criticism over how Shyamalan portrayed DID as a stereotype and violent. The National Alliance for Mental Illness describes DID as, “an involuntary escape from reality characterized by a disconnection between thoughts, identity, consciousness and memory.”
Kevin's more evil personalities, “Dennis” and “Patricia” are awaiting the arrival of “The Beast” which is Kevin's 24th personality and is an animal-like killer who seeks to rid the world of the “impure,” which are those who have not suffered.
However, upon Casey's shirt being ripped off in their final struggle, it is revealed that she has scars on her stomach—scars caused by self-inflicted harm and cutting. As it's been confirmed earlier in the picture, Casey was abused repeatedly over the years by her uncle.
3) Your trauma is your superpower. This is the main theme of Split, and to be honest, it's a troubling one. It's voiced most clearly at the end, by a (literal) predator, who tells Casey that she is pure because of what she's endured at the hands of others.
Generally speaking, Split got a lot of Dissociative Identity Disorder correct: the distinct personality states, the recurrent gaps in recall, and the childhood trauma. Unfortunately, the movie stretched itself a little too far when it changed the entire biological makeup of Kevin to turn him into The Beast.
Obviously, The Beast is where Split veers into pure fiction with DID. As the personality emerges, Kevin takes on animalistic traits and gains abilities that wouldn't be physically possible if there wasn't some artistic license involved.
At the end of the film, he kills two of the girls but spares Anya Taylor-Joy's Casey Cooke because he learns she, too, has been abused as a child. Then comes the last scene: One of the aforementioned news reports talks about the discovery of Casey at the Philadelphia Zoo, where Kevin has been hiding the girls.
Just to reiterate the above warning (because seeing Split spoiler-free is such a fun experience), spoilers below: After Kevin Wendle Crumb (James McAvoy) makes his escape, the film moves to a bar, where a news broadcast recounts some of the events of the film.
Returning to his hideout, “The Beast” confronts Dr. Fletcher. Before she is able to speak Kevin's full name, a tactic which would call Kevin to the light and throw The Horde into chaos, he crushes her to death against him. He then proceeds to rip apart and eat both Marcia and Claire.
