One theory suggests that Andy's dad died prior to Toy Story 1, after a childhood battle with polio. The theory traces back to a man named Mike Mozart, who revealed it on the Super Carlin Brothers YouTube channel in 2017. Mozart was a friend of Joe Ranft, who worked for Pixar, and has a story credit on Toy Story 1.

Woody. Woody and Jessie share a sibling-like relationship. Since meeting each other in Al's penthouse, the two share a close bond. The two are shown to have pretty heated arguments from time to time, but they deeply care for each other nonetheless.
Bo appeared briefly in the beginning of Toy Story 3 but doesn't speak. Her cameo is in the home movies Andy's mom makes. By the time of the actual events of the film, it is revealed that Bo is one of the toys that have been given away.
Jessie is introduced in the movie as a jaded cowgirl with a fear of abandonment -- her old owner, Emily, had neglected her for years before tossing her into a donation bin. Though Jessie learns to trust again and is happy to become Andy's toy, she never gets any real closure.

After Bonnie brings Woody back to Sunnyside, he tries to rally the rest of the toys and get them out of there. He learns that the only way out is through the trash, but Lotso foils this plan. Even though Big Baby intervenes and tries to save the toys, throwing Lotso into the trash, he's able to get out.

He is a very lonely boy who doesn't seem to have many friends, and therefore he relies on toys to entertain himself. Another thing worth mentioning is that Sid doesn't actually destroy toys, but instead he uses them to create something new, while being totally invested in the process.
