Trivia. In the Child's Play comic series, Karen is sent to a state hospital because the police did not believe her story of Chucky and Mike and Jack refused to back her up. After supposedly killing the doll once again, she is arrested and put on trial for murdering her psychiatrist, which in reality was Chucky's doing.
She was committed to a psychiatric hospital after backing up Andy's story about Chucky, no one believed her and thought she was nuts. In the later movies we get a brief mention of Karen Barclay and she even calls Andy in the post credits scene of Curse of Chucky.
