This time, sadly, Emily leaves her old toys, including Jessie, into a charity box, and Jessie watches in shock and sorrow through a hole in the box to watch her "whole world" officially leave her before the car is lost from her sight. For a little background, Emily was Jessie's previous owner that we only briefly saw in flashbacks. When she grew up, Emily gave the toy away, which is when Jessie went to storage. But thanks to a few specific clues, it seems highly possible that Jessie magically found her way into the hands of Emily's son years later.
It's revealed in the animated series that Andy's mom's last name is Davis, but also Emily's last name isn't revealed. So, in theory, both Jessie's owner and Andy's mom are named Emily Davis. While what happened to Andy's dad remains a mystery, Andy's mom's name could have secretly been answered.
In the song "When She Loved Me", Jessie tells Woody that she too once had an owner, named Emily, who was presumably a fan of Woody's Roundup. Emily was brought up by Jessie when Woody had tried to explain to her that Andy is someone very important to him, as she knew what he was going to say to her.
The toys return home to Andy and prepare to be stored in the attic; with Woody's intervention, though, they are instead given to Bonnie, a girl who took Woody to her home while he was away. Andy plays with his toys one last time. Jessie quickly adapts to her new life as one of Bonnie's toys.
In the ending, when Jessie saves all her friends, Buzz is shown to be proud of the cowgirl's bravery. Their relationship isn't shown as much in Toy Story 4, but they are still a couple.
It's thus not surprising that Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang will be returning to screens. There are a lot of question marks surrounding Toy Story 5, with the creative minds behind the project keeping the details locked down.
While Kristina Hubbard highlighted that Boo's real name is canonically Mary Gibbs, the same as her voice actor, meaning she can't be Emily and is unlikely to be Andy's mom.
And what does Jessie have to do with this? Recall the story of Jessie. Her owner Emily grew up with her, much as Andy grew up with Woody. She was loved and cherished, but Emily eventually gave her away when she grew older.
