Five years prior to the start of the story, during the first Apokoliptian invasion of Earth 2, Lois was killed by one of Darkseid's assassins at the Daily Planet, she died in her husband's arms. Superman and many other heroes of Earth 2 perished in the war.
This issue made the relationship between the New 52 and DC Rebirth much more clear. It turns out that neither Superman is the "real" Superman. Instead, each is a different piece of the same whole, pieces that were created when Manhattan split the DC timeline into two divergent paths.
Meanwhile, four men claiming to be Superman—Steel, the Cyborg Superman, Superboy, and Eradicator—emerge, and Lane discovers his grave is empty. Steel and Superboy are disproven as the original Superman, but the Cyborg and Eradicator both seem to recall some of his memories.
Unfortunately, just before Rebirth the new Superman dies, after getting kryptonite poisoning. This occurred in "Final Days of Superman" because he absorbed energy from the fire pits of Apokolips and exposed himself to massive amounts of Kryptonite.

Did Superman get stronger after Rebirth?
When Superman was resurrected after the death of Superman did he comeback stronger or did he just get stronger as time went on after that? Weaker, initially. He gets stronger after time.
After the Justice League succeeded in resurrecting Superman, he is very disoriented. Clark looked around the fragments of the statue, trying to gather his thoughts. The Justice League then arrived behind him, knowing that the Man of Steel is back.
The Joker then used his power to repeatedly kill Batman in the most grotesque and violent ways imaginable, highligting the lengths of the madman's depravity. The crowning acheivement was having vultures devour the Caped Crusader. Unfortunately, Joker was eroding the fabric of space and time with his antics.
The regeneration matrix allowed the Eradicator to siphon off Superman's powers for himself in order to pose as him as it slowly revived him from death, or at least some kind of special Kryptonian death-like state.
Over the course of several years, New 52 Superman had been exposed to everything from a vault of Kryptonite to the hell pits of Apokolips and it took heavy tole; his body was slowly breaking down from exposure to such drastic elements.
Infected by Brainiac, Lois began to slowly be possessed by him. During this possession, she fell into a coma, but managed to regain enough control to learn Clark Kent to be Superman and help stop the Psi War. She fell into a coma again, but once she awoke she was fully possessed by Brainiac.
Superman's humanity and capacity for good are often overlooked to enable him to become corrupted in Evil Superman stories. In Injustice and in Zack Snyder's dark vision, all it took was for Lois to die for Superman to crack like an egg and instantly turn evil, and this fundamentally misunderstands who Superman is.
However this particular storyline ends, we now know that eventually Superman will outlive Lois and Jimmy and Batman and all his friends. He's doomed to watch them age and die while he remains forever young, or at least only very gradually ages.
The 'Amnesia Kiss' was a superpower of Superman that was introduced back in 1963 in Action Comics #306, in this issue Clark uses his memory loss-inducing lip-lock on Lois Lane leaving her dazed and confused, forgetting everything about his superhero identity and keeping his secret safe.
The culprit of the murders, thefts and the framing of the Amazons is revealed to be the witch Circe, who "kills" Diana by reverting her form back into the clay she was born from. Later, Wonder Woman is brought back to life and together with Donna Troy, battles Circe and ultimately defeats her.
Doomsday as he appeared in Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey #2 (May 1994). Doomsday ranked as #46 on IGN's list of the Top 100 Comic Book Villains of All Time. He is best known as the character that killed Superman in The Death of Superman story arc "Doomsday!".
The now-infamous mid-credits scene in 2022's Black Adam famously reintroduced Henry Cavill's Superman as a force capable of stopping the antihero, teeing up a showdown that will now never happen.
On Wednesday, Cavill wrote on Instagram that Gunn and his co-chair, Peter Safran, had met with him to deliver the news. “I will, after all, not be returning as Superman,” Cavill wrote.
In fact, Superman should be immortal. He is invulnerable, his cells are invulnerable. He has no reason to age, and even those grey hairs, like in Kingdom Come, should not exist. Except it seems like the longer he absorbs yellow sunlight, the more durable he becomes.
Batman feared Superman's unchecked power, and Superman (Henry Cavill) hated Batman's brutal methods, but the real reason why Batman and Superman fight is manipulation by Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). Batman emerges victorious, and from a narrative perspective, Batman v Superman could go no other route.
Superman has been missing for five years, ever since he traveled to the location where astronomers believed they discovered the remains of Krypton. His nemesis, Lex Luthor, has been recently released from prison and married a rich widow to obtain her fortune upon her death.
