Spike was attacked and impregnated by a Facehugger that arrived on the planet on board the USS Sulaco's EEV, and as such it was he who brought the Runner to the prison and later died birthing the Dragon.

Something going on in David Fincher's mind had decided that alien took on behavioural characteristics of the host and so decided an ox would make it less vicious.

Spike was a Rottweiler who resided in the correctional unit on Fiorina 161 and was the canine companion of inmate Thomas Murphy. He was impregnated by a facehugger after it had emerged from the wreckage of one of the Sulaco's EEVs. Spike later died during the "the Dragon's" birth.
Alien 3 was a famously troubled production; several directors came and went during pre-production, its script was in a state of flux while the film was being shot, and its first-time film-maker – a young music video director named David Fincher – engaged in daily battles with producers for creative control.
Summary. Alien 3 almost ruined the franchise with its bad reception, but it would have been even worse if they used a script that killed off Ripley, Hicks, and Newt from the start. Eric Red's Alien III script had a controversial opening that revealed the deaths of all beloved characters, leading to a backlash.
Ripley soon learns that during her cryostasis aboard the escape pod, she was attacked by a Face Hugger, and impregnated with a Xenomorph embryo. A scan using the escape pod's barely functioning medical apparatus reveals this baby is none other than an Alien Queen.
After being re-assigned from Fiorina 161, Morse wrote an account of the events on the prison planet called Space Beast in 2183. However, due to its sensitive nature, the book was banned. Morse eventually passed away in 2208.
57 years later, Ripley awakes from her stasis. Her testimony regarding the Alien is met with extreme skepticism; she loses her space flight license as a result of her "questionable judgment," and finds out that her daughter, Amanda, is dead.
In Alien 3, Ripley gets infected with a Xenomorph embryo by a Facehugger and lands on a prison planet following the unceremonious deaths of Hicks and Newt.
Newt dies offscreen in both cuts of Alien 3, with Charles Dances' Clemens informing Ripley that Newt drowned in her cryotube during the opening pod crash. The initial plan was that the facehugger who causes havoc on the Sulaco attacked Newt, and she was implanted with the Alien Queen embryo.
In Alien 3, that hasn't changed, and they want the embryo that Ripley is carrying. Deciding it is best to destroy the embryo, Ripley decides to sacrifice herself after killing the Xenomorph, refusing to let Weyland-Yutani take her in alive. She dives into the furnace, destroying both herself and the embryo inside her.
It was never explained in the film how the egg(s) got aboard the Sulaco, but there have been several explanations suggested as to how it happened: (1) Some believe that the Queen either carried the egg with her from the hive in Aliens and planted it on the Sulaco or simply laid the egg there, despite having torn off ...
This Alien is different from the ones in previous installments due to its host being quadrupedal (a dog in the theatrical cut, an ox in the assembly cut). Initially a visual effects supervisor, Woodruff decided to take the role of the creature after his company, Amalgamated Dynamics, was hired by Fox.
Ellen Ripley later found Jonesy and put him in a carry case. At one point, Ripley was forced to abandon Jonesy to the Alien, but, while the Xenomorph was notably distracted by the cat, it did not attack it. Jonesy was later recovered and put in hypersleep aboard the Narcissus after escaping with Ripley.
It is never explicitly stated what became of the Sulaco after the EEV was ejected from it. Most fans assume that the fire aboard raged on to the point where the ship got critically damaged and exploded.
After most of the Colonial Marines are wiped out by the Aliens on LV-426, Bishop is a medic and technician who ensures that the company's dropship receives Ripley, Newt and Hicks. When he boards the Sulaco, he is impaled and bisected by the stowaway Alien Queen.
When confronted by the representative of the company, Ripley assumes Bishop II is an android and tells him such. Bishop II goes on to explain that he's “very human” and actually designed the “Bishop” android.
Unfortunately Ripley was carrying a Queen Alien embryo inside of her, which the company, Weyland Yutani, wanted to preserve to produce biological weapons. Ripley kills herself to avoid this. Centuries after the death of Ripley, scientists were able to clone her using DNA acquired from the incidents in Alien 3.
Below him appears to be one of the alien's many eggs, partially encompassing Brett's body. Fearing that Dallas will meet the same fate as Brett clearly has, Ripley uses her flamethrower to torch the resin, killing Dallas and sparing him the horror of being absorbed into a Xenomorph egg.
The role of Ripley in Alien was originally written for a man, however, Sigourney Weaver's casting went on to change the portrayal of women in Sci-Fi. Ellen Ripley has strong leadership qualities upheld by her strength and resourcefulness, which were not seen in representations of women at the time.
Eventually, the final Alien 3's featured a compromise in the form of the movie's main villain, a lone Xenomorph dubbed "The Dragon." Alien 3's primary antagonist might be only a single Xenomorph, but to make up for his loner status, he was an especially brutal beast.
