[IT] The silver and inhaler hurt Pennywise because they believed it would. Would a conventional weapon have the same effect if the wielder truly believed it would hurt him?
In their final battle, the Losers' Club was able to kill Pennywise by reducing him to a child-like form as they overcame their fears. In the moments before Pennywise died, his fear is reminiscent of Georgie's own, therefore closing the cyclical nature of Pennywise's murders.
Stephen King's IT introduced readers to a one-of-a-kind creature that can take any form, the most common one being Pennywise the Dancing Clown, and as menacing as it is, this creature has one big enemy it's truly scared of: Maturin, the turtle.
In both the original novel and made-for-television adaptation, Pennywise is weakened using silver bullets melted down from earrings. While they aren't strong enough to kill him, they do weaken him enough to retreat, allowing the Losers Club an opportunity to regroup and plan their next attack.

They reach the conclusion that Pennywise has all of the adults under some sort of spell that prohibits them from seeing him. The adults of Derry are shown to be villainous in their own right as well. The adults of Derry are shown to be true villains of the story in the same way as Pennywise.
Pennywise the Clown is not a clown at all. The Pennywise the clown origin story sees an ancient, evil being that is perhaps as old as the universe itself. In the novel, however, the entity IT/Pennywise has a real name — Bob Gray. Bob Gray isn't human, however, and shares the same origin as IT.

While playing Pennywise in IT and IT Chapter Two, Bill Skarsgard wears a set of prosthetic teeth, for times when the dancing clown really needs to show off his razor-sharp chompers. The problem is, these teeth caused Skarsgard to drool, and not just a little. The teeth caused full-on torrents of slobber from the actor.
If you want to get technical, It is an alien, but It's origin goes well beyond that. It is actually an ancient cosmic deity. A god of destruction, not just of our world, but of multiple worlds and even multiple universes.

Pennywise is a immortal cosmic being from another universe. I love the Joker to death, but he's got no chance. Pennywise was also beaten by a bunch of 12 year olds. The Joker is a sadistic monster who doesn't fear anything so Pennywise won't even be able to do anything to him.

I seriously doubt that Pennywise could scare The Hulk in any way or form, plus Hulk is an adult, so I am going to say Hulk easily sends Pennywise back to sleep for another 27 years. Hulk: “SMASH!”
With the stones, Thanos could take out Pennywise easily, using the soul and reality stones to show where the real monster is, and then kill him with the power stone. But without them, it would take much longer. But in the end, Thanos would still win.

One of Pennywise's most recognizable features though is his ridiculously large head. My theory is that he's got such a big head because when he first came up with his Pennywise shape, he was basing his appearance on the humans that he had spent most of his time with: infants.

It was said on page 1361 that the Spider being both female and pregnant was a symbolic interperetation. Its not literal, but a representation of whatever equivalent but inconceivable reproductive capability It actually has.
