Kratos' single biggest strength, but also his single biggest weakness remains his rage. The pure anger that stems out of Kratos, becomes an integral part of his motivation as he continues along his journey of vengeance, redemption, and transformation.
Kratos may be a God, but even he cannot survive a Hakai burst. Beerus is strong enough to destroy half a planet with his finger, so a full-on punch should be able to take Kratos down. If Kratos tries to use any of his godly weapons or shield, Beerus can instantly destroy them with a Ki blast.

Is Kratos the strongest god?
Out of all the Gods of War, Kratos was the most powerful and fearsome one, since he had the powers of Pandora's Box, the powers of the God of War that belonged to Ares, and plenty of weapons and magic from the other gods and the knowledge to use the godly powers by Athena after the death of his brother.
Zeus, however, weakens Kratos and tricks him into abandoning his godly powers into the Blade of Olympus, which Zeus uses to kill him. Although he overcame all obstacles, Kratos was stunned at Zeus's betrayal and swore revenge as he died.
It was believed that Deimos is the Marked Warrior so it is very possible that Deimos' death and Kratos' destructive and aggressive behaviour led Zeus into believing that Kratos is the Marked Warrior who would seek revenge against the Gods of Olympus and one day destroy them.
Kratos won that fight, but as the Colossus fell, it crushed Kratos underneath, leaving him severely injured and weakened so that Zeus could ambush him. Zeus then killed Kratos with the Blade of Olympus.
Kratos is definitely strong, and definitely strong enough to contend with Hulk.. But for the most part his feats are inconsistent. Hulk on the other hand is far more consistent, amd regularly shows an Incalculable level of Strength. He's bested and is seen on the level of the likes of Thor, Hercules, Sentry, and more).
Ultimately, in a battle between the two, deciding the winner would likely come down to whose universe the fight takes place. If Goku came to Kratos' World, it's almost certain that Kratos would inevitably find a way to take Goku's head as he does any other God.
Now if we're using their current selves, it's an instant loss for Kratos, because while he has weakened, Thor only grew in power. He possesses the full power of the Odin-Force, renamed into the Thor-Force, and far surpasses Kratos in power. Even Young Kratos would be no match for King Thor.
While he wouldn't know it for most of his life, Kratos was a demigod as he is the son of Zeus, but he would later become a full-on god, the God of War to be precise, after killing Ares. After years of serving the Greek gods, Kratos became disillusioned, and resentment towards the gods grew strong.
During the three years, Odin became weary of Kratos' presence in Midgard, fearing that the Ghost of Sparta could challenge his control over the nine realms or ruin his plans.
Kratos can't really die. Kratos as a born demigod turned god is virtually immortal, but furthermore is cursed for his sins to never be able to die, henceforth how he survived his suicide with the Blade of Olympus.
Kratos is not immortal, but the power he has from the gods means he is nearly impossible to kill and ages far slower than any normal person, which makes Kratos' age difficult to determine.
Kratos has been able to manipulate the elements, either with divine weapons as Gauntlet of Zeus (Thunder), magical weapons as Typhon's Bane (Wind) or power bestowed upon him (elemental powers in God of War: Ascension for example).
