Obi-Wan wasn't just proficient at this technique, though.
Form III, also known as Soresu, the Way of the Mynock, or the Resilience Form, was the third of the seven classic forms of lightsaber combat that was recognized by the Jedi Council prior to and during the Clone Wars.
Anakin Skywalker was very skilled at Djem So and showcased his mastery over the form during the Clone Wars. His Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, was also known to favor Form V. What is Rey's fighting style?
At first, Rey primarily fights with a lightsaber the same way she would have with her quarterstaff. However, after studying Luke's Jedi scripture and training with Leia, Rey probably uses Form VI: Niman, a jack-of-all-trades lightsaber form that combines different aspects of Forms I through V.
