Actors/Actresses Asteria is the former champion of the Amazons and was one of their greatest warriors ever, having earned the title The Golden Warrior. The Amazon Games are held each year in her honor, and a large golden statue of her likeness stands in the center of the coliseum.
In the second issue, Wonder Woman informs Aquaman that "the name 'Asteria' belonged to an ancient Amazonian who fought against the gods. Her name means, of the sky". In the 2020 film Wonder Woman 1984, Asteria is portrayed by Lynda Carter. The character is depicted as the greatest Amazon warrior.
The surprise appearance of Asteria (played TV's original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter) could, perhaps, be nothing more than a fun nod to the role that Carter played onscreen in the 1970s — or, maybe, it could be a clue that the Wonder Woman movie mythology is about to become far more complicated.

Who did Asteria fall in love with?
Asteria married Perses, her first cousin, and gave birth to their only child Hecate. In one account attributed to Musaeus, Asteria is the mother of Hecate not by Perses but by Zeus.
Apparently Diana sought out Asteria when she left Themyscira during the First World War, but she was unable to find her and eventually assumed that Asteria had died long ago. Diana did, however, recover the golden armor - which proved essential during her battle with Cheetah in Wonder Woman 1984's final act.

The gifts she receives from the gods of the Greek pantheon explain her superhero powers, which become evident when she transforms into Wonder Woman.
