They are simply from the same species. The name of this species has never been revealed since "Star Wars" creator George Lucas wanted to give Yoda a sense of mystery. Grogu's physical appearance is similar to Yoda, the legendary Jedi Master from the "Star Wars" films.
One popular fan theory says Grogu is a clone of Yoda. While there is circumstantial evidence to support that possibility, Grogu's age would seem to contradict that idea. The Jedi Council didn't even know about Kamino's clone army until Attack of the Clones set in 22 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin in A New Hope).
Meanwhile, Din is despondent without his big-eared buddy, thrown out of the Mandalorian cult and struggling to master his legendary weapon, the Darksaber. Hence, Din decides to reunite with Grogu, clearly regretting his choice to give him up; he even has a piece of Mandalorian armor for the little guy.

Grogu's mother is either Yaddle or some other female member of Yoda's species, but he has no father. Because just like Anakin, Grogu was born off the Will of the Force, with no dad, and that explains why he's so powerful at an age that's considered an infant for Yoda's species.
