The isik was a unit of currency preferred by the Vlugta government and was interchangeable (or easily exchangable) with latinum. There was an old Vulcan saying, "isik for your thoughts?".
Outside of Earth, money and other forms of currency were still used in the 23rd and 24th century, by the Federation itself, individual Humans, and other Federation species. One form of such currency was the Federation credit.
However, a form of currency has been widely used in the Star Trek Universe, including on Starfleet facilities: Latinum. And for all its rejection of currency, latinum continues to be used in 32nd century of Star Trek: Discovery.
The Ferengi, on the other hand, love money — or rather, latinum, a highly precious liquid metal. It's generally referred to as gold-pressed latinum, because it comes inside gold ingots, in denominations of slips, strips, bars, and bricks.

Jefferies rejected 3, 6, 8, and 9 as "too easily confused" on screen; he eventually reasoned the Enterprise was the first vessel of Starfleet's 17th starship design, hence 1701. The Making of Star Trek explains that USS means "United Space Ship" and that "Enterprise is a member of the Starship Class".
Unlike most military forces throughout history, Star Fleet pays quite well, considering that personnel receive food, shelter, clothing and medical care free of charge. Star Fleet, of course, is an elite force of explorers and scientists, and its members are paid accordingly.
The darsek was the main unit of currency used in the Klingon Empire. While on a covert mission to Qo'noS in 2257, the mirror universe Philippa Georgiou sold a pair of Nausicaan disruptor pistols to an Orion arms dealer for 2,000 darseks.
As far as Quark's is concerned, I'm assuming that each Starfleet officer has a tab that Quark gives to Sisko periodically. Sisko reviews the purchases and sends it to Starfleet for reimbursement. It's a pretty good business deal for Quark, really.
Q. The Q are potentially the least likely to get assimilated, for not just one reason but two. Firstly, their near omnipotence and god-like powers would make it almost impossible for a Borg, or even all Borg working together, to capture a Q.
Species 8472: Also known as the Undine, they were a highly advanced and biologically unique species from fluidic space. Due to their vastly different biology, the Borg were unable to assimilate or adapt to them.
Officially, the existence of a Borg homeworld is a hypothetical one as it has yet to be revealed in a canon Star Trek source. However, an identity for the Borg homeworld is given by the non-canon novel Lost Souls, which names it Arehaz.
latinum (Pt) is a metallic chemical element with a white-silver luster. It is the most widely used element among the six transition elements in group X of the periodic table. They are also known as the platinum metals (ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium and platinum).
So if you attempt to replicate Latinum, all it would take is one out of place electron during the materialization process that could cause a spontaneous breakdown of the structure of the Latinum into more base elements. That could also account for why it is pressed into Gold.
Latinum worked so well as currency throughout the majority of the Alpha Quadrant not only because it was an incredibly rare substance, but it was impossible to replicate (yet another example of the limitations of replicator technology).
Summary. UPN canceled Star Trek: Enterprise due to low ratings and a lack of network support for the series. Enterprise season 4 involved a creative shift with Manny Coto taking over as showrunner, but it couldn't save the series from cancelation.
