Affiliation(s) For other uses, see Cody (disambiguation). Cody, formerly designated CC-2224, was a male Clone Marshal Commander in the Grand Army of the Republic who commanded the 7th Sky Corps—including its renowned subunit the 212th Attack Battalion—during the Clone Wars.
With his superior officer Commander Cody, Rex also helped uncover a traitor within the clone ranks. The triumph on Christophsis gave Rex little time to rest.
Clone marshal commanders were the highest rank a clone trooper could gain within the Grand Army of the Republic. They were usually in charge of Corps-level formations. The marshal commander was an equivalent to Major Generals or Lieutenant Generals outside of the Grand Army.

Ahsoka was with the 501st legion whereas Cody was in the 212th. The two of them were both commanders, however Ahsoka had an upper edge. She was a Jedi Padawan, meaning she outranked any clone trooper. So technically, if Cody was in her legion, he would follow her orders.

Ahsoka then replied, "Well, if experience outranks everything, I guess I'd better start getting some!" The two became friends and Ahsoka got more experience, eventually outranking the captain!
The 7th Sky Corps was a military corps of the Grand Army of the Republic. Like other units in the Grand Army, the ranks of the 7th consisted of clone troopers that had been engineered to fight for the Galactic Republic.
Not more, the same or less. Ranking is not about who's better in combat. It doesn't for instance if that was the case then Rex would've reported to Fives and Echo. Rex was also a ARC trooper but he held the rank of captain.
Grand Army of the Republic lived the longest? well, it's none other than CT6116 or Kix of the 501st Legion. kix served alongside Anakin Skywalker. and Captain Rex during the Clone Wars as a medic.

Speaking at Drag-Con 2018, writer Henry Gilroy confirmed he nixed Cody's return in Rebels, where he would've had a more villainous role. With his chip still intact, Cody was originally meant to work with Grand Admiral Thrawn to track down the crew of the Ghost.
And unlike his compatriot Captain Rex, he wasn't able to remove his chip. All of that put a dark shadow over his soul... but ironically confirmed his humanity in the process.

The clone trooper battalion, was put under the leadership of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker with clone captain Rex, while Rex was succeeded by Appo at the end of the war.
Rex and Ahsoka are very close friends, having met each other at the battle of Christophsis after she was assigned as Anakin's apprentice. He took an immediate liking towards her and later congratulated her when she helped Anakin destroy the Separatists' shield generator.
Interestingly enough, Rex seemed to be differently affected by Order 66, as he managed to hold off shooting Ahsoka for a while. Rex was later saved from his programming by Ahsoka and some droids that managed to remove his inhibitor chip, freeing Rex from the orders of Darth Sidious.
