Eventually, Percy won the duel when he stabbed Ares in the heel; Ares tried to attack Percy again in a fit of rage, but Kronos prevented him. Before Ares departed, he warned Percy that he made a terrible mistake by making the God of War his enemy.
Ares puts a curse on Percy, saying that when he needs his sword the most, it will fail him. He only goes along with granting Percy godhood because he can fight him as many times as he wants and Percy will just keep coming back.
The two engage in battle but are interrupted by mortals who recognize Percy as the boy from the news. Ares fires at the mortals while Percy uses the waves against him and stabs him in the heel. As Ares prepares to implement his next attack, a strange force stops him and he lowers his sword in defeat.
With a grin, Ares admits that he used a hero to steal the bolt and the helm, but he says that Percy was supposed to die in the Underworld to anger Poseidon and leave the bolt there to anger Zeus.
Upon his return from the Underworld, Percy challenges Ares to single combat in "The Prophecy Comes True." And despite going toe to toe with a far more powerful being, Percy wins this confrontation with a little help from Poseidon.
Upon returning to Camp Half Blood, Percy is betrayed by his friend Luke, son of Hermes, who turns out to be the human hero whom Kronos used for the theft. Luke poisons Percy, and tells him before leaving that Kronos will rise and destroy the age of the gods. Western Civilization is unraveling.
It was further revealed that the war god had been a pawn of the main antagonist of the series, Kronos. At the climax of the novel, Percy confronted Ares in combat and against all odds defeated him in a duel. In losing the battle, Ares declared his hatred for Percy Jackson.
And 92% of plasma is made up of water. Personally, I think Percy has always been one of the strongest Demigods in the series. He can breath underwater, heal himself with water, talk to various animals, control water, manipulate water, can control boats telepathically, and create earthquakes! (Among other things).
Thalia and Percy quarrel occasionally at camp because their similar personalities tend to clash. Thalia is called "Pinecone Face" by Percy; in retaliation, she calls him "Seaweed Brain", which Percy does not like because it's Annabeth's pet name for him.
Hades became angered at Percy, when the hero seemed to suggest that he was a minor god, which Percy quickly denied and went on to say that he too should gain a cabin at Camp Half-Blood.
Percy's presence was revealed at the worst possible time, as Zeus's Master Bolt, his symbol of power, and Hades's helm of darkness had been stolen. The appearance of a Son of Poseidon made Hades and Zeus suspicious, as Gods can't go into each others' territory, but their children could.
Chiron believes Hades also knew Poseidon would claim Percy as his son, so Hades has tried to kill Percy by sending monsters such as the Minotaur before Percy's quest could begin. Percy is angry that Hades' desire to kill him caused his mother to disappear and has instilled fear in the rest of the camp.
In addition, the curse he gave to Percy (that, at a crucial time, his sword would fail him) comes back to haunt him as, when Percy fights Atlas, his sword becomes too heavy to lift.
Describe what happens after Percy wounds Ares: Everything went dark – sound and color drained away. Why is important that the Furies witness Percy's battle? So that they could tell Hades that Percy had not stolen the helm from him.
Zeus and Hera didn't particularly dislike Ares, they just didn't respect him much. Ares is always portrayed as childish, bloodthirsty, and wild. He will join a battle just to make it bloodier, not caring who lived or died. Athena hated him, and no god respected him except maybe Aphrodite, due to her love for him.
Art by Ed McGuinness. Ares, the Greek God of War, was initially depicted as a supervillain in the Marvel Universe, opposing Thor, Hercules and the Avengers. Early on, his influence on Earth was less direct as he created an organization known as the "Warhawks" and used them to create war on Earth.
If they were near a pond of some sort, Percy would win easily. In an electrically charged environment, Jason would defeat Percy. There is also the question of how far their abilities can stretch. We know that since Percy can control water, he can possibly control other liquids.
A true fan would know that Annabeth Chase would NEVER cheat on her own boyfriend. Being the daughter of Athena, the goddess of wisdom, that would go against EVERYTHING her mother stands for. But to answer your question, no this never happened in the book. It's not canon, and never will happen.
This is the chapter where Annabeth first kissed Percy, right before he was blasted to Calypso's island. Enjoy! I had my invisible cap on, and Percy was no where to be seen.
Weaknesses: Because of his arrogant and brutal nature, Ares can be extremely reckless, overconfident, narcissistic and foolhardy, leading to him making crucial mistakes in a confrontation.
Athena defeated Ares several times. During the Trojan War, she attacked him with a boulder. Athena also helped Heracles (Hercules in Latin) defeat Ares through a non-fatal wound.
Percy Jackson was able to wound Ares, defeat Hades, and nearly defeat a weakened Hyperion all in physical combat, through use of his own powers, or some combination. However, at least the more powerful gods in their divine form or in full use of their powers are too powerful to be defeated by a demigod.
