Karen Barclay (played by Catherine Hicks) - Andy's mother, and later Mike's wife. She buys him a Good Guy doll for his birthday unaware that the one she picked was possessed by a serial killer. Initially, she refuses to believe that Chucky was alive, but she soon finds out when he comes alive and tries to kill her.
He goes into the foster care system while his mom is institutionalized. In Curse of Chucky (2013), a post credit scene brings back Andy and in doing so, it also revealed where Mrs. Barclay was currently. She's out of the hospital and settled down with someone.
When Nica asks Chucky what his motive is, he reveals that he was a family friend that was secretly in love with Nica's mother Sarah. He killed her father and kidnapped Sarah.
There were many rumors about why Catherine Hicks didn't reprise her role as Karen Barclay in the sequel with the popular being that she was pregnant by her husband Kevin Yagher who operated the animatronic Chucky doll, but the simple fact was that the director John Lafia wanted to take the story in a new direction.

One of the Chuckys tells Tiffany to kill her but Tiffany having developed feelings for Nica decapitates the doll and knocks Nica out with a sedative. When Nica awakens she is horrified to discover that Tiffany (to protect herself from Chucky) has amputated her arms and legs.
After her husband's funeral, she is kidnapped by Charles, but manages to call the police. Charles angered by her rejection, pulls out a knife and stabs her in the stomach before fleeing the oncoming police. Because she was pregnant with Nica, his actions cause her to be paraplegic.
Through flashbacks, Chucky explains that he was a friend of the family. He was in love with Sarah, but she was married and pregnant with Nica. Chucky killed Sarah's husband and kidnapped her some time after the funeral. After Sarah rejects him, Chucky stabs her in the stomach before fleeing from the police.
The Colonel's final words. The Colonel (2021 – 2022) was a Good Guy doll possessed by a piece of the original Chucky's soul. He believed himself to be the supreme Chucky and murdered many others, taking Andy Barclay as a hostage and becoming a cannibal by eating parts of him.
It's revealed in the animated series that Andy's mom's last name is Davis, but also Emily's last name isn't revealed. So, in theory, both Jessie's owner and Andy's mom are named Emily Davis. While what happened to Andy's dad remains a mystery, Andy's mom's name could have secretly been answered.
Andy's dad never appears in any of the Toy Story films, and his absence is never addressed directly. Naturally, several theories have sprung up to explain that away, including some in which Andy's parents got divorced. One theory suggests that Andy's dad died prior to Toy Story 1, after a childhood battle with polio.

Not only would I not recommend this movie for children or families, I would not recommend this film to anyone who is a movie fanatic.
Banned in China: In the UK on 12th February 1993, two year old James Bulger was murdered by ten-year-old boys Robert Thompson and Jon Venables. Venables' father had rented the film a few months prior, leading the press to speculate that the boys had been inspired by its events. The film was banned in the UK until 2002.
Kyle wears her old hat from Child's Play 2 in her appearance in Cult of Chucky. In Cape Queer, it is revealed that Kyle was able to overcome what happened to her as a teenager, and is happily married. In He is Risen Indeed, it is shown that Kyle lost an ear from the explosion at Charles Lee Ray's home.
