In Mockingjay, it was revealed that President Snow sex trafficked Finnick to wealthy Capitol citizens and if Finnick refused, President Snow would kill somebody he loved. Finnick also cared a lot for his mentor, Mags, who had volunteered to participate in the Games, instead of Annie.
And finally, when Finnick tells his story about Snow's selling Finnick's body, Katniss realizes that Finnick, too, is a slave of the Capitol, afraid of having everyone he loves killed. No one is free from the Capitol's greed, deceit, or abuse, not even handsome and heroic Finnick.
When he first meets her, he calls out her name as if they already know each other, but in reality, he wants to get to know her before they get into the arena and become allies. LAST: "Katniss!" In a full-circle moment, Finnick's last line is also Katniss's name.
Finnick became a victor almost a decade before Katniss and Peeta, in the 65th Hunger Games. Hailing from one of Panem's wealthiest districts, Finnick was a career tribute, which means that he trained from a young age to participate in the games and went into the arena out of his own volition.
What did Finnick mean when he said Snow sold his body?
After winning the games, Snow forced Finnick into prostitution and sold his body to Capitol residents to gain their trust. Finnick only agreed to take part because Snow threatened to torture his loved ones. Even though he bedded several women throughout his time as a victor, Finnick's love for Annie remained true.

Why did the old lady kiss Finnick?
Chia Mags kisses Finnick on the mouth to briefly let him know that this is the last time she will see him. It's her way of saying "Goodbye" but in a more affectionate way.
Before he rescued Peeta, Katniss saw Finnick as a threat and someone she will eventually have to kill. However, she admits she will never be able to kill him because he saved Peeta. She won't be able to look past the debt she owes him for saving Peeta's life.
Finnick's death gave even more weight to Katniss's mission to kill Snow, since he was directly responsible for the death of one of her friends - making it all the more poignant when she chooses to kill President Coin (Julianne Moore) instead of getting to personally kill Snow herself.
During the 70th Hunger Games, Annie witnessed her fellow District 4 male tribute's beheading, which drove her to insanity. She has certain problems which included her closing her eyes and covering her ears, laughing when it was unnecessary, and staring into the distance at strange times.
Johanna Mason was the axe wielding victor of the 71st Hunger Games from District 7. Snow would later orchestrate the slaughter of her entire family as punishment for her defiant nature.
As Katniss gets nearer to the barricade, a second wave of bombs go off, sending Katniss hurtling through the air and killing many more children, including Prim. The last word from Prim in the novel before she died was "Katniss".
The following year after Lucy Gray Baird's victory, another female tribute emerged as the Hunger Games winner. Mags Flanagan became the first victor from District 4, living off of nuts and her survival skills by creating fishhooks. She was also the first victor to move to Victor's Village before serving as a mentor.
In a way, Finnick has outsmarted Katniss here by saving Peeta's life. Now Katniss "will never stop owing Finnick." He's done her the kind of favor she can't easily pay back; now she can't let him down.

In the case of Johanna, they each hated each other because that was what the Capitol had taught them to do. They were from competing Districts, and the idea of the Games was to keep the lesser citizens of Panem distrustful of one another and unwilling to form alliances (or raise arms in war).

Peeta's Family Was Killed When President Snow Bombed District 12. After Katniss and Peeta won the Hunger Games, they each received a house in Victor's Village. Katniss' mother and Prim immediately moved from their home in the Seam, but Peeta's family stayed at the bakery—so District 12's boy tribute lived alone.
Finnick Odair was a male victor from District 4 and the winner of the 65th Hunger Games, making him the youngest Victor ever. Ten years later, he was reaped into the Third Quarter Quell, of which he was one of the survivors.
Finnick rushes to resuscitate him as he knows he needs Peeta alive to keep Katniss going. Another clue that he is in on the rebel plan comes when Katniss is about to kill him with her arrow, and he tells her, "remember who the real enemy is," which is something Haymitch said to her before the games.
