He would have needed to get as far away from the eventual Empire as possible, so perhaps they would have gone with Yoda to Dagobah?

Anakin does not have even the slightest bit of remorse. By the end, he feels nothing but anger. Although he feels regret for killing Padme, he still helps the evil Emperor. The film ends with Anakins standing side by side with the man on whose behalf he has committed all his crimes.

Qui Gon HAD to die for Vader to exist. In several aspects, he poses a direct threat to Palpatine and the Sith in general. As such I do not believe Anakin would have fallen prey to the Dark Side with Qui Gon. He needed ONE just ONE powerful, validating and understanding mentor.

With the release of The Rise of Skywalker this debate can finally be put to rest. The two duel on the ruins of the Second Death Star and its pretty clear that Kylo is the more powerful of the two. Rey is soundly defeated by Kylo who appears to be significantly more powerful than Rey.
