In the comics, Loki is reborn as a woman, known simply as Lady Loki, after the events of Ragnarok in Asgard, but even that wasn't too innocent: When Thor and his fellow Asgardians are to be reborn in new bodies on Earth, Loki actually stole the body intended to be for Sif.
In a 2008 storyline, Lady Loki was introduced, having emerged from the pivotal comic book event known as Ragnarok reborn into a female form. It was quite a shock for other characters in the story, but Thor — ever the supportive big brother — adjusted quickly. Lady Loki was accepted and referred to as a woman.
Within the context of the time, Loki very much exhibits genderfluidity in perhaps the most essential way, because they literally do shift between genders, and have been seen as both a man and a woman. Pronoun-wise, Loki is usually referred to with male pronouns, and sometimes female, but never neutral.
Meanwhile, Loki had been reborn into a body intended for Lady Sif, and, desiring to use the body as his own, Loki trapped Sif in the form of an elderly woman in hospice care, rendering her powerless to stop him.
Thor was able to restore the Asgardians gathered by Balder, and Loki was then reborn as a woman. Unrelenting in his trickster ways, Loki feigned benevolence and told Balder that he was also Odin's son.

Is female Loki canon?
The MCU has already made Loki's genderfluidity canon, which supports the idea that the variant simply chose to present differently (and either could change their gendered appearance at will).
Loki came out on the third episode of the series after telling Lady Loki (Sophia Di Martino) that he's had a romantic past with both princes and princesses. That line of a dialogue was the extent to which “Loki” addressed the character's bisexuality.
Loki shapeshifted and turned himself into an alluring female horse to draw Svaðilfari away from helping the master builder complete Asgard's fortifications. When they were together, Loki and Svaðilfari mated. Loki subsequently became pregnant and gave birth to Sleipnir.
After all Loki has done, Odin still loves him. Odin still calls him 'son. ' Odin still sees only his child. It was, perhaps, in that moment that Loki accepts his father's love, becoming free to be his real self for the first time.

Classic Loki is a character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that appears in the Disney+ series Loki. He is a Variant of Loki that lived in his predetermined path on the Sacred Timeline, but managed to survive his final encounter with Thanos by using an illusion to fake his own death.
It was explained in “Thor” why he adopted Loki as a son. (SPOILERS from “Thor: Ragnarok” are below, so read at your own risk!) Loki was a helpless baby left to die in the cold, harsh environment of Jötunheim. Odin took pity on him and rescued him.

The majority of storylines surrounding Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe had to do with his father issues. He was always insecure over how Odin didn't love him as much as he did Thor, with this eventually morphing into contempt for his father.
Loki is married to Sigyn and they have two sons, Narfi or Nari and Váli. By the jötunn Angrboða, Loki is the father of Hel, the wolf Fenrir, and the world serpent Jörmungandr. In the form of a mare, Loki was impregnated by the stallion Svaðilfari and gave birth to the eight-legged horse Sleipnir.
(Remember: Odin literally turned his son's skin from blue to white when he was a baby and kept Loki's parentage hidden from him until he was an adult.)
This stemmed from his childhood and the belief that Odin didn't love him. While Odin's hiding of Loki's true parentage and Thor's demeaning behavior may have influenced Loki, ultimately he is to blame for his villainous actions due to his own issues with self-acceptance and misinterpretation of his upbringing.

Technically speaking, the real Loki — or rather, the Loki that fans have watched since 2011 — is still dead. The version in the series is from a different timeline, and he is at a distinct point in his character growth.
MCU Sylvie inherited the character title ('Enchantress'), the enchanting power set, and being Loki's romantic love interest from Amora the Enchantress. She got the name 'Sylvie' from comicbook Sylvie Lushton, that's it.
She has the same personality and powers – shapeshifting, creating illusions, other sorcery and magic – as the male version of the character. She is tricky, cunning and sometimes acts as a villain, sometimes as an antihero and occasionally even a hero.
Marvel didn't create Loki's genderfluid identity for the purposes of their character; that trait takes its material straight from Norse mythology itself. Throughout Norse mythos, Loki has taken on multiple forms of varying genders. In the myths, the trickster god had the ability to change his shape and sex at will.

Citing the Marvel Visual Dictionary, this theory explains that Odin used magic to make Loki seem Asgardian. However, Odin must have used stronger magic than a simple illusion. Otherwise, Loki would have turned blue in Loki when he entered the Time Variance Authority (TVA) Office, where magic and powers did not work.
