After the Quarter Quell is announced, Mrs. Everdeen screams. In Mockingjay, after Prim's death, she buries her grief in her work. She moves to District 4, abandoning Katniss again.
Everdeen moves to a hospital in District 4 as she can't bring herself to return to District 12 following her daughter's death. It seems District 4 is where she stayed, and she and Katniss kept in touch through the phone.

Incidentally, it's this exact type of bomb that took Prim's life.
Katniss comes close to crying, something she knows she mustn't do because it would indicate weakness to the other tributes and make her look vulnerable; thankfully, Haymitch distracts the crowd and the cameras by stumbling off stage.
Cressida is a talented director with a keen eye for useful footage. Her desire to film Katniss in action is so great that she lies about Katniss's plan to kill Coriolanus Snow in the hopes that Katniss will act heroically on camera.
