Bryan Cranston starred alongside Kevin Hart in the 2017 dramedy “The Upside,” based on the true story of a paralyzed billionaire who befriends a recently paroled convict and hires him as a caretaker.

Dell has to take on nursing tasks, such as inserting a catheter and helping move Phillip from his bed to a wheelchair. As a novice to caregiving, none of it is easy for Dell, and the movie portrays some comedic moments, but also the seriousness and intimacy of the tasks.
How long does a visit take? A visit to the Upside Down Amsterdam takes about an hour and a half. No rush, take your time and enjoy your visit to the museum.
Although Amanda's home is set in Brentwood, the exterior scenes at the gated property were actually filmed in front of Southern California architect Wallace Neff's Mission Revival house in San Marino, a suburb adjacent to Pasadena. Neff had built the house for his family in 1928.

Founded by Australian fashion icon Jodhi Meares, THE UPSIDE's early ethos laid in establishing a bold brand that catered to sartorially sophisticated and time savvy individuals who led demanding lives but cherished their training.
Instead, the Upside Down is inhabited by different monsters, most notably humanoid predators known as Demogorgons and a dormant organism the kids refer to as the Mind Flayer.
Plot. Andrew Beckett is a senior associate at the largest corporate law firm in Philadelphia. He conceals his homosexuality and his status as an AIDS patient from others in the office. A partner in the firm notices a lesion on Beckett's forehead.
By the time Dell meets Phillip in The Upside, Phillip's wife has already died of cancer, and it is assumed that several years had passed since then. In reality, Phillippe's wife was still alive by the time Abdel began working as his caretaker, though she did die of cancer shortly thereafter.
The Intouchables is clearly the more well-respected film (74% on Rotten Tomatoes versus an undeserved 39%), but The Upside is actually quite a successful remake. Some may bristle at recreating a film just so we English-speakers don't have to read subtitles, but the filmmakers did a good job with it.
The Upside is a career best for Kevin Hart, and combined with the talents of Bryan Cranston, the two of them lift the film up above its standard story of an unlikely friendship to create a genuinely moving viewing experience.
Though he is unqualified for the job, Phillip hires Dell because he believes that Dell will not treat him with pity, nor resuscitate him should he stop breathing.
The staff clamor around Philip to help him as he insists he can't feel a thing. Dell goes to pick Philip up and return him home, but Philip chews Dell out for arranging the whole thing with Lily since he now feels like a fool. Philip then fires Dell.

In modest box office milestone news, STX and Lantern's early Winter sleeper The Upside has crossed the $100 million mark in domestic grosses. That gives the Kevin Hart/Bryan Cranston/Nicole Kidman melodrama a strong 4.93x multiplier, with arguably around $5m-$6m left in the can.
