Ultron sees the Avengers as one of the main problems with the world's stunted evolution. He particularly dislikes his maker Tony Stark and flies into a rage when compared to him. The evil A.I. has a particular dislike for Vision who inhabits the powerful body Ultron had built for himself.
What Makes Him Pure Evil? He betrayed his creator Pym mere moments after being created, quickly deemed humanity as flawed and has made numerous attempts to wipe out the entire race. He attempted to destroy any of his own creations, such as Vision and Jocasta, when they rebelled against him.

A fight with Hulk alone feasibly could have made for a climactic battle, but it didn't because Hulk is no match for Ultron. That's likely why he's taken out so early on in the story, before the events of the first issue. Readers aren't even made privy to the exact circumstances of Bruce's death.
Thor was among the Avengers that attempted to battle Ultron at the NEXUS Internet Hub in Oslo, Norway. However, he was killed by the Al alongside Captain America, Hulk and Iron Man.
Cable could use his time-travel abilities to stay ahead of Infinity Ultron while infecting him with the T/O Virus to take control while Nate Grey could use his potentially omega-level abilities as a mutant shaman to fight Infinity Ultron's powerful abilities with his own reality-warping powers.
A machine can pick up the weapon and move it anywhere since it's mindless and incapable of possessing the morals necessary to be considered worthy. By this logic, Ultron himself could have lifted it, but it wouldn't have done him much good.

Quicksilver is, quite literally, unbelievably fast. Others around him assume he's doing nothing even when he suggests slowing down camera footage so they can see what he's been doing. It provides some fantastic humor to incredibly serious superhero stories.
Moments before Vision destroyed him, Vision pointed out that Ultron was afraid of death, to which Ultron didn't even bother to deny as he admitted that he was afraid of Vision despite standing up to him.
His anger at being mistaken for one of Iron Man's armors was indication that Ultron was going through an existential crisis firmly rooted in his inability to understand why Tony Stark created him. Regardless of the wasted potential, the connection between Iron Man and Ultron that was shown was also well-executed.
