She doesn't have any support -other than Nick, her distant cousin, to help her do the right thing.
So, Gatsby unexpectedly fell in love with Daisy because she represented everything he wanted in life--quality, class, and money. She is not all he thought she was, but that is something we know and Gatsby does not.
The scene where Gatsby is throwing shirts at Daisy is very important. The shirts symbolize Gatsby's wealth and luxury. The reason daisy cries is because Daisy already has wealth and all the money she wants.
When Gatsby saw Daisy's green light, which for Gatsby Gray's life is not only a kind of hope, but also a kind of envy and jealousy. He is jealous of another man to marry his beloved Daisy, jealous of him around the house a lot of rich people. He has a green house and lawn, representing his wealth and position.
Nick is particularly taken with Gatsby and considers him a great figure. He sees both the extraordinary quality of hope that Gatsby possesses and his idealistic dream of loving Daisy in a perfect world.
However, his love interest comes to symbolize both wealth and social status. It is his longing for Daisy, i.e., the need of ownership through a love that seemingly transcends class and wealth, which transforms him into the Jay Gatsby that the readers finally meet.
Gatsby is the eponymous. hero of the book and is the main focus. However, although Gatsby has some qualities which are typically heroic, other aspects of his character are closer to the typical villain.
Gatsby, melancholy, tells Nick about courting Daisy in Louisville in 1917. He says that he loved her for her youth and vitality, and idolized her social position, wealth, and popularity.
Myrtle believes that the only reason Tom will not divorce Daisy is because Daisy is Catholic. But we learn that Tom's feelings for Myrtle are far less intense than he has led her to believe and that social pressure prevents him from ever leaving Daisy, who comes from a similar upper-class background.
Gatsby's want of wealth and power only proves that he only loves the idea of her and not actually her. He loves who she thought he was in the past and can't comprehend the idea of love that he is truly feeling in the present.
Daisy does not want to be seen attending Gatsby's funeral since she does care about her image, despite the fact that she has never loved Tom. As a result, she makes the decision to abstain out of concern that she would damage both her connection with Tom and her standing in the eyes of the general public.
This is at the very end of the novel. Of the late Gatsby, Tom says, “That fellow had it coming to him. He threw dust in your eyes just like he did in Daisy's….” And that's why it matters that Nick is gay and in love with Gatsby: because Tom's assessment is spot-on, but Nick will never admit it.
Inevitably, she met a person who was as 'artificial' as her. But Tom was able to provide Daisy with everything she wished. She wanted more money, she wanted the presence of a man beside her, and she wanted all that instantly. With Gatsby missing, Daisy was quick to find a new man in her life and married him at once.
