What was the point of the movie Belfast?
Based on writer-director Kenneth Branagh's own life, “Belfast” is the story of a Protestant family driven out of Northern Ireland by the same Protestant Loyalist forces that were attempting to purge certain neighborhoods of Catholics in what became known as the Troubles.
Filming initially took place in and around London before moving to Belfast. The entire film was shot in seven weeks. Production concluded by October 2020. Belfast was shot digitally using the large format Arri Alexa Mini LF camera and Panavision System 65 lenses.
