Originating in the alternate reality of the Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610), Miles was a teenager from Brooklyn bitten by a radioactive spider accidentally taken from a defunct Oscorp laboratory that had been trying to recreate the spider which gave the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, his powers.
