Yes we can all agree that his initial "power absorption?" Not sure of the technical term but that power makes him a prime conduit. However his powers he uses in game are not by technicality his powers which would make him a secondary conduit like the DUP or Ice soldiers.

Sea lanterns can be used to activate a conduit by building a structure around it. By doing this, the conduit emits the Conduit Power effect in a certain radius, depending on how many blocks are used to power it. Prismarine, dark prismarine, and prismarine bricks can also be used for this purpose.
What is a Conduit and Conduit Power? A conduit is a beacon that needs to be built in a 3x3x3 body of water in Minecraft. Once built it gives you “Conduit Power” that activates when the player comes in contact with either water or rain. Depending on how you build the conduit, it'll have a range of 32-96 blocks.

Play Good karma first, evil is much easier. I went through the game faster as evil even though I did it on plat. The story is also slightly different, mostly just the ending and a few scenarios... I personally prefer good.
