Marvel's Eternals recently revealed the truth of Thanos' origin, and the dichotomy at the heart of his creation suggests a chilling reason why the Mad Titan is obsessed with Death, and has been since childhood.
The comic briefly explores Thanos' time as an outcast, where he reveals he found a new love "stronger than ever Death," in the love of nothing. Thanos loved being stuck in the void of nothingness, as he grew to love nothing - even more than Death.
It shocked audiences to witness Thanos's affection toward Gamora when he sacrificed her for the Soul Stone. Seeing the tears on the Mad Titan's face was deceiving and unbelieving. The viewers couldn't fathom the idea that Thanos had a heart; even Gamora didn't believe that her adopted father could love anyone.
He witnessed the people of his planet suffer due to overpopulation and limited resources, and his maniacal solution was to kill half the universe so that his distorted notion of balance could be restored. In the comics, Thanos' motivation is much less philosophical.
It is no secret that Thanos is absolutely infatuated with Mistress Death, with the entire purpose of Thanos Quest (by Jim Starlin and Ron Lim) and Infinity Gauntlet (by Jim Starlin, Ron Lim, and Geroge Pérez) being to honor her by eliminating half of all life in the universe in a single instant.
As she grew up, Thanos would force Gamora and her adoptive sister Nebula to fight one another, but referred to Gamora—who won every fight—as his favorite daughter.
What does Thanos dislike? Thanos hates Deadpool. While Thanos only has eyes for Mistress Death, she, on the other hand, may have eyes for another. Everyone's favorite Merc with a Mouth has come in contact with Mistress Death a number of times (basically every time he “almost” dies, which is quite a bit).
He has feats such as defeating Surtur (who can destroy a planet), conquering the 9 realms, and sealing away Hela. While there isn't much doubt that Thanos could beat Odin if he had all 6 stones, Odin could probably defeat Thanos if he only had one or two of them.
Portrayed by. Thanos was a genocidal warlord from Titan, whose objective was to bring stability to the universe by wiping out half of all life at every level, as he believed its massive population would inevitably use up the universe's entire supply of resources and perish.
Believing he was weeping due to his failure, Gamora continued to taunt Thanos. However, Red Skull saw his true intentions, informing Gamora that Thanos was, in fact, weeping for Gamora, as he truly loved her as a daughter, and was heartbroken that he had to sacrifice her to get the Soul Stone.
The Avengers stood no chance against the Rot, as it could only be defeated by its parents. In the end, Thanos and Death worked together to ensure the Rot couldn't swallow the entire universe. For a one-and-done character in Marvel Comics, there are few more powerful than Thanos' forgotten child, the Rot.
According to the theory, Thanos adopted Nebula with the intention of sending the two daughters to seek the Soul Stone and force Gamora to sacrifice Nebula. This would still allow him to get the Stone without having to pay such a steep price and would explain why he stoked such a resentment in Nebula.
Since Gamora was most regularly successful in advancing his ideals and vision for the universe going forward, he favored her, equating her successes with love.
Twice. In the beginning, the normal thanos is beheaded by Thor. And later, the thanos from 9 years in the past is snapped out of existence by Ironman after an epic showdown between the avengers and the army of thanos. Thanos died twice in Avengers: Endgame.
He transported Thor back to Asgard where Odin took this as an act of war and fought an extremely destructive battle with Thanos. Even upon learning the truth, Odin did not thank Thanos for his reluctant altruism, but told him to leave and never return.
While Zeus is by no means a pushover, unless he has some immensely powerful tricks up his sleeve in Thor: Love and Thunder, it appears that the MCU's Odin is still the strongest god on the cosmic block.
Few characters can stand against him, with only a few being so brave and some being very foolish. While the MCU Hulk was not able to defeat Thanos, his comic book counterparts pose a better chance to make an even fight particularly if Thanos does not wield the Infinity Gauntlet.
Kulan Gath surpasses Thanos as the ultimate bad guy, as seen when he not just defeated the Avengers but killed most of Earth's heroes in a shocking and terrifying display of this Conan the Barbarian villain's power. To add insult to injury, Kulan Gath ate them afterward.
As Cates has pointed out on Twitter, it's important to point out that “Thanos” is still Thanos' real name, and that “Dione” was what his mother originally wanted to call him before he was born.
He becomes infatuated with Death after having a number of near-death experiences. During the Funeral for a Freak storyline, Death appears to reciprocate the feeling, and a jealous Thanos prevents Deadpool from dying and joining the entity by cursing him with immortality.

Disbelieving, Gamora could not comprehend that Thanos ever showed genuine love for her.
As proven by Thanos sacrificing Gamora, he's a being capable of love. While he may not have had affection for Nebula in her adult years, her growth and ability to fight with 100 percent of herself every time were enough for him to pay attention to her and try and "help" her to ensure she never lost again.
The Children of Thanos, as they are referred to in the latest film, are not to be confused with Thanos' adopted daughters, Gamora and Nebula. Instead, this team consists of four members: Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Cull Obsidian, and Ebony Maw.
