Nari was a near-human male Jedi who served the Jedi Order. In 9 BBY, ten years after the destruction of the Jedi Order, Nari was hiding on the planet Tatooine, storing his starship in the wastes of the planet.

The Jedi Council sent him on a mission to assassinate Count Dooku, during which Vos fell in love with the assassin Asajj Ventress and was forced to learn the ways of the dark side of the Force.
He also defends Ventress as a "friend" of the Jedi. Following the proceedings, Vos is pardoned for his crimes against the Jedi and the Republic. Kenobi also accompanies Vos to Dathomir to bury Ventress. Together, the two Jedi lay the Nightsister to rest in a dark pool near the abandoned Nightsisters' village.

Like Ahsoka in some ways, Rey isn't necessarily bound by Jedi teachings, and certainly doesn't see the world in black and white.
In the 2015 novel Dark Disciple, based on unfinished episodes from The Clone Wars, Ventress teams up with undercover Jedi Master Quinlan Vos in an "un-Jedi like" mission to kill Dooku. Ventress falls in love with Vos.
