Occupation. Jack Fensky is a corrupt Philadelphia police officer who, alongside Troy Hoffman, murdered Matt Ehrmantraut and later attempted to kill his father, Mike, after he discovered their role in Matt's death.
Summary. Mike Ehrmantraut's son, Matty, was killed by corrupt cops before the events of Better Call Saul, shaping Mike into the hardened character he becomes. The lack of focus on Matty's storyline in Better Call Saul is a missed opportunity to explore Mike's past and provide more depth to his character.
It is revealed through flashback that after months of investigation, Mike was able to put the pieces together and discovered that it was Hoffman and Fensky who killed his son.
The two cops pull Mike from the car, prop him up against a street lamp, then step away to discuss how to handle the situation. Fensky convinces Hoffman to shoot Mike with the gun they took off him earlier and stage the death as a suicide.
Intending to flee, Mike asks Saul to retrieve his go bag. Walt retrieves it instead, and meets with Mike. Intending to have Mike's associates killed in prison to protect his identity, Walt demands their names in exchange for the bag. Mike refuses and Walt shoots him with the gun from the go bag.

How did Jesse know Walt killed Mike?
This shot implies Jesse looked thru the window and saw them dispose mikes body. In the next episode Jesse tells Walt that he things Mike is dead and mentions that “walt would have to look over his shoulder if Mike was alive…” this dialogue is referring back to the shot over Walt's shoulder. that's how Jesse knows.
Cause of Death: Walt was accidentally shot by the same remote-activated machine gun he used to kill Jack Welker and his gang. Walt was far from an innocent character by the time he died, but he found a sliver of redemption by saving Jesse from Welker's gang.
As he staggers home, Fensky and Hoffman offer him a ride and help him into the back seat. Mike tells Fensky and Hoffman he knows they killed Matt.
