Although the wind does indeed change when Mary Poppins leaves the Banks family, I don't believe this is the wind that she meant to change when she made this promise to the children.
The imposing house in the background of the shot, once home to the Bishop of London, stands on Barton Street and a few doors down, at 14 Barton Street another plaque marks the one-time residence of TE Lawrence – Lawrence of Arabia.
