Tony Moran was a struggling actor before he got the role of the unmasked Michael Myers in Halloween. At the time he had a job on Hollywood and Vine dressed up as Frankenstein. Moran had the same agent as his sister, Erin, who played Joanie Cunningham on Happy Days.
While Castle did play Michael for a majority of the original 1978 "Halloween," it's the face of Tony Moran that you see when Michael is finally unmasked. After that memorable role, however, Moran actually retired from acting in movies.

As a child, Michael was admitted into a psychiatric hospital for the murder of his older sister, Judith Myers. After 15 years of captivity, Myers broke out of the asylum and started his killing spree, with the intention to murder his remaining family relatives and anyone who would get in his way.
For instance, The Cult of Thorn storyline from the original movie track implies that Michael Myers isn't human. At six years old, he became a pawn, and with the first sacrifice of Judith, his soul got infected by the murderous being worshiped by the cult. As such, he might not be able to communicate like a human does.
