In the comics, there exist two prominent versions of Thomas Wayne Jr. The first one is the older brother from Earth-3 who becomes part of the Crime Syndicate as Owlman. That version of Wayne Jr. is a psychopath, as he helped Alfred kill Bruce and his parents on that Earth - albeit the Wayne's were monsters themselves.
However, Gordon arrives too late to save Rachel, and she dies when the bombs surrounding her are detonated, her last words assuring Harvey that it is OK for him to be saved instead of her. But it did seem as if Rachel expected Batman to be there, to save her.
The Joker deduced Batman's feelings for Rachel and knew that was how he was going to break him and push him to kill Harvey at some point given that the latter was in a relationship with her.

Bruce Wayne was robbed of both of his parents when he was just a small child, but his work as Batman has inspired those more fortunate than he was to follow his lead.
Their history on the Earth-Two continuity developed to the point where Catwoman reformed and Batman admitted his love for her, formally marrying shortly after and having a daughter, Helena Wayne, who later became the Huntress.
Later, Arthur goes to Arkham State Hospital and steals his mother's records, and finds out that he was in fact adopted, and that Thomas Wayne is not his father and that Penny is not his true mother.

Damian Wayne, Tim Drake, and Jason Todd are the ones that most people believe have been fully adopted. There is some contention over Dick Grayson, though it looks like it was retconned so that Batman fully adopted him as a son. It looks like he adopted Cassandra Cain as well.
They began in the 1987 graphic novel, Batman: Son of the Demon. In that story, Batman and Talia al Ghul, the daughter of his enemy Ras al Ghul, finally became an official couple. She got pregnant, and Bruce Wayne vowed to quit his Batman career and raise the child.
As both Batgirl and Oracle, Barbara Gordon has been featured in various adaptations related to the Batman franchise, including television, film, animation, video games, and other merchandise.
Following her introduction to the comics in 1999, Harley Quinn was depicted as the sidekick and lover of the Joker as well as the criminal associate and best friend of Poison Ivy.
Unsurprisingly, Batman's most popular love interest is the antihero and occasional villain Catwoman. Even though they often stand on opposite sides of the law, Batman and Catwoman still understand each other.
After writers were forced to include Bat-Woman as a romantic interest and villains like Poison Ivy caught Bruce's attention in the 60s, Batman got his first new real love interest. His latest love turned out to be his enemy's daughter, Talia al Ghul, in Detective Comics #411.
I love him, and I want to spend the rest of my life with him. When I told you that if Gotham no longer needed Batman we could be together, I meant it. But now I'm sure the day won't come when *you* no longer need Batman. I hope it does; and if it does I will be there, but as your friend.
