Scott Shelby (born Scott Sheppard), better known as the Origami Killer, is the main antagonist of the interactive 2010 mystery-drama action-adventure video game Heavy Rain.
Scared and confused, the boy could only watch helplessly as his brother drowned. Thus, the Origami Killer was born: a killer who searches for a father willing to sacrifice himself. He kills his victims the same way his brother died. The boy is revealed to be Scott, who was adopted soon after his brother's death.
Ethan dies. Shaun cries over his father's grave, looking back toward it one last time as he leaves with his mother Grace. If Madison and/or Scott are still alive, they will be seen watching from afar. Ethan survives and is not imprisoned; Shaun survives; Madison is never kissed, rejected, or dies.
Not only is Ethan not actually the Origami Killer, but these weird little asides were never actually explained, even when the killer's identity is revealed. Of course, this particular plot hole was explained by Quantic Dream outside of the game itself.

This was the reason why he became the Origami Killer, just to find a father who will give up his life for his own son. If Ethan is alone, Ethan will be enraged by the confession and will have the opportunity to shoot Scott.
The origami figures are probably a holdover from a scrapped concept: as explained in Heavy Rain: Cutting Room Floor, an early version of the game had Ethan's and Scott's consciousnesses become intertwined after Jason's death, and Ethan would black out and create an origami figure each time the Origami Killer claimed a ...
Generally though the best ending is one in which Shaun is saved, Ethan is innocent, the Origami Killer is caught, and Norman, Madison and Ethan survive.
When the game is finished, she comes back to the police office where she brings shaun to Ethan. She also apologizes to Ethan before she leaves. That is the last time you see her because, after that, the game is over... After the scene at the police station where she guilts him, at no point will you be seeing her again.
Cage has said that Heavy Rain's story is largely inspired by his own experience as a parent and by his own fears for his children. As both game makers and game players move into middle age and beyond, this is the kind of depth you can hopefully come to expect more often.

Behind Ethan and Mattie, the cat has leapt from Zeena's rocking chair in pursuit of a stray mouse. This sudden reminder of Zeena oppresses Ethan, and he impulsively picks up his end of Mattie's sewing work and kisses it gently.
Heavy Rain: Cutting Room Floor reveals that the blackouts were caused by a psychic link formed between Ethan and Scott during the accident at the mall. The scenes explaining this were removed late into development, but some references to the supernatural elements were left in the final game, creating a plot hole.
While attempting to escape, Ethan crawls over these rotting carcasses, only to see a faint apparition lingering in the distance. Pressing forward, it leaps toward Ethan and rips a chunk out of his hand, costing him his left pinky and ring finger in the process.

At some point, Kellogg was cybernetically enhanced by the Institute, which slowed his aging and extended his lifespan. By 2287, he is over 100 years old but physically appears to be less than half of that, looking much the same as when he kidnapped Shaun 60 years before.
Shaun was created at the behest of Father, the director of the Institute, and is a Gen 3 synth based on the real Shaun's DNA. Shaun is unable to age and will remain a child forever. Shaun was created not for any major research or scientific advancement, but simply on the whim of Father.
Shaun was born sometime before 2077 and was kidnapped by The Institute in 2227. His kidnapping would eventually lead to The Final Pam trying to find him and meeting her new "Sonsband" Roachy.
