He had fallen in love with Padme when they first met when he was still a boy (Padme was only about 4 years older than him) Ten years later, when they met again, and he was a m “mature” adult they were thrown together with him as her protector. She finally began to feel the same love for him.
Obi-Wan couldn't help wishing Anakin the happiness he had been denied, and therefore, he decided to keep the marriage between Padmé and Anakin a secret. There is a tragic irony to this because, in truth, Obi-Wan shared Anakin's greatest weakness: attachment.
Anakin's vision did come true, as Padmé, heartbroken by her husband's downfall, loses her will to live and succumbs while giving birth to twins. Before her death, Padmé still believed there was still good left in Anakin and that one day he could be saved with the help of their children.

When Anakin had to choose between losing Padme — fearing that she might die in childbirth — or turning to evil to “save” her from death, he chose evil. His desire to “save” her at all costs led Anakin to the dark side. For him, the dark side became a means of saving his loved one.
The subtitles and script show some of Padme's final words to Obi Wan as “There is still good in him.” Every time I watch this I swear she says “Obi Wan... there's quite a name.” I have always thought of it as her recognizing him for everything he has done over the trilogy.
Palpatine tells Darth Vader that in his anger he killed her, placing the blame for Padmé's death on Vader. Vader denies it, saying he sensed Padmé was still alive, which the audience knows she was as Obi-Wan escaped on the ship with her.

By the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Luke had accepted that Vader is his father, and his hatred toward his father had completely disappeared, transformed into love and hope, like his late mother, Padmé Amidala, Luke believed there was still good left in Anakin and that he could be redeemed.

In order to keep the children safe from Vader, who was unaware of their births, it was decided that Luke would be taken to live with his uncle and aunt, Owen and Beru Lars, on Tatooine; meanwhile Leia was taken to Alderaan as the adopted child of Amidala's friend and colleague, Senator Bail Organa, and his wife, Queen ...
Before he could enter, however, Vader was stopped by Sabé, Eirtaé, Rabé, Saché, and Dormé, former handmaidens of Amidala, who refused to let him enter into the grave so he would not desecrate it. However, Vader would not be denied. As he entered the tomb, he became flooded with memories of Amidala.
While the act alone didn't kill her, Anakin's turn to the dark side was too much to bear. Holding on long enough to give birth to her children, Padme eventually passed away, having lost the will to live. Thus, Anakin's visions of her death came to pass, and Bail Organa and Obi-Wan were left to care for the children.
Since Clovis also died on Scipio on this same trip, Padmé could lean into the rumors that Clovis was the father, allowing people to believe it and, therefore, deflect attention from her and Anakin. Except, no one talked openly about it out of respect for Padmé who was, undoubtedly, upset over Clovis' passing.
Actually when he found out Padme died, he started releasing a pressure and was destroying the room. He accidentally sent Palpatine flying, which made him angry, so he hit Vader with force lightning. This showed Vader that Palpatine could kill anytime because of his electric components. So he stayed out of fear.
Luke and Leia weren't Clones either, which is the other means of reproducing in SW. They were non-identical twins, they weren't grown in a vat like the Clone Troopers but born as a result of a normal pregnancy. So yeah, Anakin and Padme obviously had sex at least once, but since SW is for kids we don't need to see it.
However, the animated series and comics are now revealing that the Sith Lord showed what Padmé meant to him even after his transformation. Considering his position as a servant of Emperor Palpatine, it can be assumed that Vader eventually moved past his feelings.
