Her personal anthem, the song that plays in the animated version of 101 Dalmatians, is all about how “if she doesn't scare you, no evil thing will.” And her defining characteristic is that she loves dalmatian fur so much she's more than willing to kidnap a bunch of puppies in the hopes of skinning them for their spots.
In most of her incarnations, Cruella kidnaps the 15 puppies of the main Dalmatian characters, Pongo and Perdita, intending to turn them into fur coats along with 84 other Dalmatian puppies she legally bought before.
Some theorize that her hatred for animals is a result of her traumatic childhood; her parents were allegedly distant and emotionally abusive, and her only solace was her pet black and white spotted puppy.
Later, Cruella kidnaps the Baroness's Dalmatians and trains them to respond to her, even, eventually, adopting them as her own. While Cruella does explain the origin of Cruella de Vil's hatred of Dalmatians (despite contradicting itself), it also uses dogs as a symbol of character development.
For the real dogs, there were about six trainers on the set of Cruella. According to Gillespie, dalmatians were especially hard to work with because their attention span was limited and they became rather rambunctious and fidgety when in a scene with other dogs.

Why did Cruella hate Dalmatians?
It is there the movie arbitrarily suggests Cruella de Vil's eventual obsession with Dalmatians is because that breed of dog was used as a literal murder weapon in the death of her mother.
Cruella comes to visit and feels that Anita just sending the sketches of her designs because she is on leave from work isn't the same as the interaction they had together. She mocks Roger for his job and for starting a family which makes his respect for her, turn to hatred.

When asked why the wardrobe statement piece was intentionally left out, Stone attributed it to evolving opinions about smoking within the past 60 years.
In 101 Dalmatians, Cruella wanted to purchase Perdita and Pongo's Dalmatian puppies because she was a selfish heiress who viewed the puppies as a fashionable commodity to be exploited rather than as innocent living beings.
But what makes her want to turn them into fur coats? In the end-credits scene, Cruella's gifting of Pongo and Perdita seems like heartfelt thank-you to two friends who helped her achieve her goals. It suggests Cruella's feelings about Dalmatians have changed, as she gives two innocent puppies to loving homes.
Though Jasper and Horace carry out Cruella's deeds, they only do it for money and not for enjoyment. Horace fears her wrath, but Jasper shows no respect for Cruella due to often being annoyed with her bossiness. This makes Cruella despise Jasper more than Horace.
Catherine, a former employee of the filthy rich Baronness, is there to ask her former employer for a bit of money. Rather than extend some compassion, the Baronness silently whistles for her trained Dalmatian attack dogs, who leap at Estella's mother and push her off a cliff into the sea.
What The Ending of Cruella Really Means. Cruella ends with the Baroness being proven guilty of Estella's murder and being taken to jail for her crimes. While the Baroness is exposed in the eyes of the public, she is shown to hold a considerable amount of influence due to her social stature.
Baroness Von Hellman is the main antagonist of the 2021 film Cruella, portrayed by Emma Thompson. She is the biological mother of Cruella De Vil and an esteemed fashion designer operating in London. Known for founding the House of Baroness, she is fiercely protective of her position and reputation.
Their parents, Pongo and Perdita, set out to save their puppies from Cruella, in the process rescuing eighty-four additional ones, bringing the total of Dalmatians to one hundred and one.
Perdita gets pregnant, and so does Anita. Cruella visits their home and gets excited when she finds out Perdita is expecting too. Weeks later, she returns when a litter of 15 puppies are born and offers Roger and Anita £7,500 for them, but they refuse.
It is not until the end Cruella reveals her true personality, a violent, careless, murderous, destructive, and downright evil psychopath, after the dalmatians escape, she becomes nearly insane and preposterous, so she goes on a rampage trying to retrieve the dogs but accidentally crashes the car she was driving.
Like any villain, Cruella De Vil is evil! Her fierce, unkind and selfish behaviour makes her one of the most evil characters. On her arms she wears a pair of long, ruby gloves to cover her pale, wrinkly skin which is transparent like a window.
At the 2022 Oscars, makeup artist Nadia Stacey revealed that the script for the sequel was in the works. Even in 2023, the project is still in its pre-production stage. Considering the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Cruella probably won't begin filming before 2024.
