In the wake of the more recent SECRET WARS, Doom found his face healed and decided to try his hand at being an actual hero as seen in INFAMOUS IRON MAN (2016) and INVINCIBLE IRON MAN (2016).
During the second super hero Civil War, Victor von Doom received a vision of his future—and he didn't like what he saw. In order to alter this trajectory, he assumed the Iron Man mantle following Tony Stark's apparent death, which sent him down a path of redemption.
Rescued by a clan of monks, Victor quickly mastered the monks' disciplines as well as the monks themselves. Victor then forged himself a suit of armor, complete with an iron mask, but before the mask had finished cooling, Victor put it on, permanently bonding it to his skin, and then took the mantle Doctor Doom.
Doctor Doom has committed some of the worst atrocities in Marvel Comics history, making him an odd choice to turn into a hero. But, after being at the height of his powers as God Emperor Doom during Secret Wars, the longtime Fantastic Four villain turned a new leaf in a newly formed world.
Everything in Doom's origin story tells of a man who was forced to become what he is. Born in an oppressed minority, having his parents taken away by forces beyond his reach, Victor had to grow into a ruthless individual who thinks himself superior to everyone else.
Kirby further described Doom as being "paranoid", wrecked by his twisted face and wanting the whole world to be like him. Kirby went on to say that "Doom is an evil person, but he's not always been evil. He was [respected]…but through a flaw in his own character, he was a perfectionist."
Doctor Doom is the sole known Peter David villain who is Pure Evil in both the novelization and the film it adapted, as the novelizations by David and Josephs only increased Doctor Doom's evilness from the film duology.
Kang, to an infinite degree — except that Doom uses his power better. Interesting fact: Kang's real name is Nathaniel Richards. As in, a distant descendant of Reed Richards… but also of Victor Von Doom. With a lineage like that, we might expect him to be far more brilliant.
They've battled each other in the past and present but every time, Iron Man has been able to defeat the Doctor. Iron Man may be nearly as arrogant as Doom but he doesn't let his arrogance hold him back, which has always allowed him to defeat the Latverian ruler.
Likewise, with the resources at the two character's disposal, it would definitely be a very close fight. While Doom may fancy himself a god at times, Batman is notorious for taking down gods, making it easy to see how Batman could still achieve victory over Doom.
Abilities. Super-Genius Intelligence: Van Damme held multiple doctoral level degrees and an IQ of 198. Doom was a child prodigy and scientific genius though unlike Richards he approached science as an art rather than as a system.
6 Doctor Doom Eventually Learns Respect For Iron Man
But the end of this two-parter causes Doom to pay Iron Man his proper respect as he learns just how intelligent he is...even if that respect comes with the promise of revenge.
Doctor Doom was able to finally wield Mjolnir after the hammer fell into Hell. There, the weapon's mystical protections were diminished enough for the ruler of Latveria to use it to escape his hellish prison.
Doctor Doom is pretty much Iron Man's superior in every way. His armor may look archaic but it can drain the power from a god and allow Doom to use it. He's one of the most learned sorcerers on the planet. He has a wide knowledge of biology and understanding of human superpowers.
Biological Immortality: Doom acquired his vast magical powers by travelling back in time to learn about magic in its earliest stages and then returning to the present by simply waiting. This effectively makes Doom thousands of years old and strongly implies that he is immortal (though not invincible).
In Marvel Comics, the "Infamous Iron Man" comic book series followed Doctor Doom as he became the new Iron Man after Tony Stark's death, and a version of that story in the MCU would be exciting.
On a sheer power level basis, Goku dwarfs Doctor Doom and his armor. Even with Doom's magic skills, Goku is still his superior in power, but that doesn't mean he's superior to Doom. Doctor Doom is much smarter than Goku could ever imagine being.
On normal conditions Doom doesn't have a hope in hell to beat this guy, under normal/common circumstances, no, Odin would wave his hand and Dr Doom would be gone from existence.
Weaknesses. Magnetism: Doom's metallic body is magnetic; a weakness used by the Master of Magnetism, Magneto. Arrogance and Pride: Doom's excessive pride and arrogance (which has been further fueled by his mother), has lead to the loss of those he loves; with both his wife's and son's death and his mother's betrayal.
When the two come to blows, the initial clash proves brief, as Magneto finds himself unable to affect Doom's armor. Utilizing his endless array of gadgetry and nearly uncontested intellectual superiority, Doom easily generates a forcefield that counters the electromagnetic fields Magneto creates.
Wiz: Also, nothing Doom had could kill him, since Superman has survived hits from god-like beings. Doom also has been beaten by people like Luke Cage and Spider-Man, so he wouldn't last long against Superman's power.
It would be a stalemate or Doomsday would eventually win. Because while Thanos is the bigger threat, there isn't anything he can do to beat Doomsday. All of his attacks will only increase the monsters strength. And while Doomsday could throw Thanos through the city all night, it won't effect the Titan in the slightest.
Self Sustenance: Doom is capable of surviving without the need to; breath, sleep, eat or drink. Matter Manipulation: Doom is capable of manipulating matter, thus he can easily change states of matter.
Doom sought to increase his knowledge of both science and magic in order to rescue his mother, whose death he blamed on Mephisto. In his youth, Victor fell in love with a woman named Valeria, but she resisted his advances.
On various occasions, the suit could also produce blasts of concussive force through its gauntlets, and allow the doctor the power of flight through a miniaturized propulsion system.
