Maz Kanata's smile as she sees Leia's body pass into the Force only after Ben's death seems to indicate Leia, a true Jedi, knew what her ultimate purpose was in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It was to save and redeem her son, and in turn, redeem the Skywalker family.
Leia kept Han's medal as a treasured memento of her dead husband. She held it before reaching out to her son, perhaps somehow connecting to Ben and Han's presence in the not-so-living Force.
It's during this experience that Obi-Wan really makes an impact on Leia's life. So, even when she eventually learns his real name, Leia always associated the Jedi Master with Ben rather than Obi-Wan. Inspired by this, it makes sense that she decided to name her son Ben Solo — after Ben Kenobi.
Not only did Ben care little for the Jedi, he also viewed Luke as the person keeping him away from his parents. And the strict rules of the Order only made matters worse, as Ben felt they limited his potential, and forced him to forgo attachments.
