Because her White Martian heritage had brought on persecution, she portrayed herself as a Green Martian — something she did for years. M'gann shortened her hair as she aged, and in a later attempt to better connect with her heritage, she left her skin white and tried going bald.
Her skin is now white, reflecting her status as a White Martian. One year later, her hair has return and she now keeps her hair longer, past her shoulder, and she keeps the sclera of her eyes black.
As an adult in the Titans of Tomorrow... Today! storyline, M'gann's default physical form is that of a White Martian having embraced her heritage (and Martian physiology reflecting their state of mind). To compensate for her pyrophobia, adult M'Gann wears a forcefield that protects her from flame.
She wasn't comfortable displaying or telling others that she was actually of the White Martian minority, and changed her color to “fit in.” Her Martian humanoid form also mimicked the Hello Megan's hair symbolizing her desire to live the picturesque life, as picturesque as the life can get basically.
In Action Comics #1057, Superboy and Miss Martian officially start a romantic relationship after being together in Young Justice, a change that might surprise comic readers.

When did aqualad turn bad?
In Season 2, both are sidelined. Kid Flash and Artemis have retired, Aqualad quit the team and turned evil (or so it would seem) and Robin has become Nightwing.
Having become obsessed with Earth TV during her time on Mars, M'gann started emulating the mannerisms and behaviors of the main character in her favorite program, Hello Megan. She even used the catchphrase from the show, "Hello Megan," as her own during the events of Season 1.
Malleable Form: Megan possesses psionic control over her physical form, down to the molecular level. This gives her virtually unlimited shapeshifting abilities. She can adopt human form, elongate her limbs, grow to immense size, take animal forms, reform her limbs, mimic clothing, and even form simple weapons.
"Hello, Megan!" and derivatives. Used as a catchphrase in the in-world show Hello, Megan!, the phrase has been adopted by Miss Martian, and her teammates to a lesser extent. Used primarily to express exasperation at themselves, similar to Homer Simpson's D'oh.
They struck up a relationship shortly after M'gann's relationship with Superboy ended. M'gann felt La'gaan made her happy with herself. La'gaan was uncomfortable with his "impure" appearance, and the way it sidelined him for most missions.
From biological point of view, Megan can't have children with Conner since they are different species (she is Martian and he is human-cryptonian hybrid).
In an all out brawl, Raven may be more powerful, but she's often hesitant about using her powers so she gets taken out sometimes that way. Miss Martian has a multitude of abilities. It'd be a tough fight.

He grew up on an animal sanctuary in Qurac, with his mother. After an accident Miss Martian was forced to give him a blood transfusion which resulted in him gaining the ability to shape-shift into any animal. After the death of his mother, Beast Boy is now under the care of Miss Martian, who he addresses as his sister.
Martian Manhunter is the uncle of Miss Martian (and now also of Beast Boy?), who both are Martians from Mars. I thought a bit about the powers of the three related characters and noticed something important: All three are immortal because of their shape-shifting powers.
The reason Superboy ended their romantic relationship was because of how Miss Martian was abusing her powers, while she believes her actions to be justified. However, the final straw that truly lead to their break up was when Miss Martian attempted to erase Superboy's memories of him being upset with her.
It stands to reason, then, that Deathstroke was actually targeting Wonder Girl, and Aqualad simply got in the way. It's certainly unlike Slade Wilson to miss his target, but that he fires again, after Garth is already dead, lends credence to that.
In both Young Justice and the comic series Aqualad being black allowed from the connection of Black Manta being his father possible giving the character an interesting and complex story to navigate. The way I see Aqualad as Kaldur him being black add to what was previously empty (see invisible whiteness discourse).
