Natalia Alianovna Romanoff was born on December 3, 1984 in Stalingrad, Soviet Union. As an infant, she was deemed by the Red Room to possess genetic potential, and was purchased from her birth family.
The Soviets then turned Barnes into the Winter Soldier, a deadly assassin who worked for Russia's Department X. Bucky ended up at the Red Room, an assassin training facility, where he participated in the Black Widow Ops program as a trainer—and that's where he met Romanoff for the first time.
Barnes then became an instructor in the Red Room. Natasha and Bucky developed romantic feelings and started a secret relationship. The KGB discovered the two were romantically involved, and their relationship ended with Natasha's engagement with Shostakov.
During the War, the young Natasha served in the Russian army where she fell in love with another young soldier named Nikolai. Despite their initial happiness, their union did not end blissfully. Nikolai was killed in the war and the baby girl they conceived did not survive birth.
Weaknesses. Brainwashing: During her time as a spy for the Red Room, they mentally programmed her with certain mental commands, which can bring her under control, should she ever turn rogue. This was used by Nighthawk to put Black Widow into a comatose state.
We know Natasha's ultimate fate though -- she sacrifices her life to obtain the Soul Stone and undo Thanos' genocidal Snap in Avengers: Endgame. We see the fallout of her decision in this movie's post-credits scene.
