Author Suzanne Collins asked to have it changed to the orange variety she had described in the books. And director Francis Lawrence has followed through with the orange cat in the following two installments. Two cats were used in filming, one "mellow" actor cat for most scenes.
Why did you recast the cat? Francis Lawrence: You know what that was actually, and I was happy to do it, that was a request from Nina the producer and Suzanne the author. That they thought the cat from the first movie was not the way he was described in the book.

Katniss purchased that goat after Rooba came by and said that she, in fact, didn't want the goat; then she winked at Katniss. Together, Katniss and Gale deliver the goat to Prim who was all too excited to care for it.
Now, the cat has somehow made it from District 13 back to District 12 on foot. Katniss yells at it because the cat reminds her of Prim and she's sad about Prim's death.

Because she doesn't want to get other people in trouble by connecting them with her illegal hunting, she says she got the money for the goat by selling her mother's old silver locket, but in reality she and Gale killed a large buck and sold it at the Hob.
Katniss is rendered deaf in one ear after she blows up the Careers' supplies, and she doesn't regain any hearing on her left side until afterwards when the Capitol gives her a hearing aid.

Katniss's focus on survival and her family's safety prevented her from fully considering romance, but her feelings for Peeta and Gale diverged in the end. Katniss ultimately chose Peeta because he understood her trauma and she didn't want to lose him, proving her love for him.
Prim's death was necessary for Katniss to see the true evil of Coin. This also allowed Katniss to hate Coin on a higher level and have a motive to kill her. Finnick's death was also necessary because he protected Katniss and the others of the Star Squad during the lizard mutt attack.

Gale Hawthorne, who has five family members including himself, had his name put in the glass ball forty-two times. The amount of tesserae taken is larger in Panem's poorer districts, such as District 12.
Prim has left her a gift of goat cheese from her goat, Lady, wrapped in basil leaves on the table. Katniss makes her way to the Meadow, then through the fence that is meant to keep the people of the impoverished District 12 inside.
Mockingjay. Katniss sees the remains of Madge's home. After speaking to Thom, who was in front of their house, Katniss finds out that Madge and her family, as well as the two people who worked for them, did not survive the bombing of District 12.
Before the 3rd Quarter Quell began, Portia gave Peeta his jumpsuit to wear in the arena. After that, she was never seen again. She and all of the stylists and prep teams of the Victors were executed in the weeks following the collapse of the Quarter Quell and the uprising that it gave way to.
Peeta urges Katniss to run and stays to fight fellow tribute Cato while she escapes. He survives the encounter with Cato but suffers a stab wound on his leg. He camouflages himself into the rocks and mud alongside a riverbank, slowly dying of blood poisoning until Katniss finds him days later.
Johanna won the 71st Hunger Games by pretending to be weak and that made all the other tributes leave her for last. Then she unleashed her full potential and violently killed all the remaining tributes. Johanna, being the only remaining District 7 female victor, was Reaped for the 75th Hunger Games.
