#2: Sleeping Beauty This classic film took almost forever to complete for many reasons. One, it was created at a time when animation was done by hand. There was no computer software that could speed up the process so animation was labor-intensive.
Earle's design prompted Disney to film Sleeping Beauty in Super Technirama 70, the first animated film in this format. This decision presented additional difficulties for animators and layout artists, who had to work with very large sheets of paper and create twice as much art to fill the frame.
How long did it take for Sleeping Beauty to be made?
It took six years to make, perhaps because Walt Disney was lavishing most of his attention on creating Disneyland. The film cost $6 million and grossed slightly more than $5 million. Mostly because of this film, Walt Disney Productions lost $1.3 million in 1959‐60, the fifst time it had lost money in a decade.
The most common criticism against Sleeping Beauty was that it was too similar to Snow White. As a result, it only earned $5.3 million domestically. Another aspect of Sleeping Beauty's failure that gets overshadowed by its legacy is how it was a bad turning point for Disney.

100 Years of Storytelling. In 1937, Walt Disney Animation Studios released its first fully animated feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, pioneering a new form of family entertainment.
Another fairy, who had not yet bestowed her blessing on the child, states that when the princess wounds her hand on a spindle, she will fall asleep for 100 years, rather than die. While her parents are away, sixteen-year old Beauty discovers an old woman spinning and pricks her finger falling into a deep sleep.
She is represented as an evil fairy and the self-proclaimed "Mistress of All Evil" who, after not being invited to a christening, curses the infant Princess Aurora to "prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die" before the sun sets on Aurora's sixteenth birthday.
A king who happens across the estate wanders in and finds the princess's sleeping body, fails to wake her and then proceeds to rape her. And if that's not bad enough, the princess later gives birth to twins while still unconscious — one of whom sucks the splinter from her finger and wakes her up.
Although multiple sources have claimed over the years that the character is 17, Henn estimated Belle to be in her early 20's. In an interview for Vanity Fair, Paige O'Hara stated to believe that Belle was the only Disney princess to be in her 20's.
In the original fairy tale, the princess actually sleeps for 100 years before she is finally awakened by the prince's kiss; this detail was adjusted for the film in favor of having Prince Phillip introduced earlier, and thus Aurora is awakened much sooner.
Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather reveal Briar Rose's true identity as Princess Aurora, as well as the fact that she is betrothed. The fairies sadly explain that she can never see the young man again, not knowing that he was actually her betrothed. This makes Aurora go to her room crying.

The answer to this problem is straightforward! Regardless of how many times Beauty undergoes her sleep/wake cycles, it does not change the probability of a fair coin toss. It is ½ or 50%. At least, that is what our intuitive understanding of probabilities leads us to think.
