The Precursors are a race of aliens from the Anteverse. Colonizers by nature, the Precursors consume worlds for resources. August 2013, they begin a twelve year campaign against Earth in an attempt to terraform the planet using the dormant volcano of Mount Fuji.
However, it was the belief of the Defense Corps that the invading creatures were losing to the combined efforts of humanity. They remained unaware that the Kaiju's specific reason for attacking large cities and populaces was to cleanse the Earth of its "vermin"; in this case, humankind.
The film is set in the future, when Earth is at war with the Kaiju, colossal sea monsters which have emerged from an interdimensional portal on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
The Martians are the advanced beings that invade Earth and serve as the antagonists of the story. They have depleted their resources on Mars, so their sole motivation is to conquer Earth and make it their new home. They command advanced technology, including heat-ray guns, which can decimate any target.
In 2013, legions of monstrous creatures from another universe known as Kaiju rise from the seas, when a wormhole to another dimension labelled as "The Breach" opened at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
Strength is subjective in the kaiju world because the stats on these creatures are all over the place and most are not accurate. There is only one that constantly reigns supreme in physical strength. That is of course King Ghidorah the alien dragon from the deep cosmos.
Why do the aliens want babies in War of the Worlds?
So that was the deal with the babies. Their box-fresh stem cells were needed to grow replacements for the Invaders' failed organs and cure the genetic weakness wiping out their species. Or more properly, our species. The alien Emily met in the closing moments of season one wasn't just humanoid, it was human.
In War of the Worlds, the story and the radio drame, the tripods came to Earth from Mars in pods. The pods landed on Earth and were inside craters. The Martians reassembled the tripods in the craters and then emerged to attack London. In the mediocre recent film, the tripods were indeed inside the planet.
To date, no proof of past or present life has been found on Mars. Cumulative evidence suggests that during the ancient Noachian time period, the surface environment of Mars had liquid water and may have been habitable for microorganisms, but habitable conditions do not necessarily indicate life.
The Jaegers are sturdy, but Godzilla is more powerful and a lot more intelligent than the other Kaiju the robots have faced. He will exploit the mechs' weaknesses and use his brute strength and massive size to fight back.
Striker Eureka in the Hong Kong Shatterdome. The strongest and fastest of the Jaegers, Striker Eureka's fighting style is akin to that of a dirty boxer or a brutal brawler. This fighting style stems primarily from its pilots, Chuck and Herc Hansen.
The Pomarine Jaeger is the largest of the jaegers. Adults have long central tail feathers that are twisted 90 degrees, but these are usually lost after the breeding season, in mid- to late summer.
Kaiju (Japanese: 怪獣, Hepburn: Kaijū, lit. 'Strange Beast') is a Japanese term that is commonly associated with media involving giant monsters. A subgenre of science fiction, it was created by Eiji Tsuburaya and Ishirō Honda.
Shrike is one of the smallest Kaiju to breach, with a total mass of 12,000 tons (compared to the previous smallest Kaiju's weight, which was 20,000 tons). It had eight legs, a long, sinewus body similar to a Komodo Dragon, a massive skull crest similar to Estemmenosuchus, only with more spikes and horns.
The tripods were essentially grinding up the humans and spraying the pulp on the ground. In the book, along with the fighting tripods, there were harvester machines that gathered the humans and placed them in metal baskets. The captured humans were processed and injected directly into the alien's veins for food.
Why do the aliens in War of the Worlds spray blood?
They require human blood; but only as part of their xenoforming project. Throughout the film, their tripods spill blood that is presumably connected to the invaders' needs (indeed, in the script David Koepp refers to it as "lifeblood", though it is described as rose-colored, rather than the film's orange).
Weaknesses: The Martians can die of human diseases and if they get sick, the shield stops working. The tripods can be destroyed by putting explosives inside the "blood sucking device".
In Steven Spielberg's 2005 War of the Worlds film, the presence of the red weed on Earth is intentional. Once they have a strong hold of the planet, the invaders take captured humans and drain their blood, which act as a fertiliser for the red weed, helping it grow and cover the planet.
There is no character named Robbie in H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds. However, Robbie is a side character in Spielberg's 2005 film adaptation. In the movie, Robbie is the main character's son. He leaves his father and his sister, Rachel, because he wants to join the military and fight the aliens.
This comic confirms that Godzilla isn't just a big lizard with atomic breath, he is more like the physical representative of the Earth itself. Therefore, it is his job to maintain order and protect the planet, as the world truly is his dominion, for they are one and the same.
Biology. Within the design of the Kaiju, the Precursors engineered Kaiju blood to become reactive to rare earth metals. Weaponized within the body of the Kaiju, its blood would be strong enough to destroy an environment with those metals present.
Some humans are capable of becoming a type of kaiju in their own right, gaining unusual monstrous traits or powers through exposure to radiation or by undergoing scientific experiments. Such humans are often referred to as kaijin.
