Wanting to use it to revive his family and apologise for his selfishness in the past, Dumbledore lost his common sense, forget that it was a Horcrux which may have been cursed, and adorned it on his right hand. Almost immediately, the curse triggered, and nearly killed Dumbledore.
Hoping to revive his dead family members (particularly his sister Ariana Dumbledore), he disregarded the ring's status as a Horcrux and put it on. This enacted the ring's deadly curse, and it began to quickly spread through Dumbledore's body, starting with the hand on which he had put the ring.
However, all of this was no match for Albus Dumbledore who was able to retrieve the Horcrux and destroy it with the Sword of Gryffindor. For his troubles, he discovered the ring to be cursed, which blackened his hand and left him with a death sentence placed upon him.
Snape Didn't Want To Kill Dumbledore, But He Had No Choice
He made a grave mistake by wearing the ring, allowing Voldemort's curse to injure him. The Dark Lord's evil magic caused the tissue in Dumbledore's right hand to die and turn black, and that curse would only continue to spread throughout his body over time.
Dumbledore knew about Horcruxes. He knew how they were formed, what happened after that, etc. He probably got to know Harry was a Horcrux when he saw the Scar on Harry's forehead, but maybe he wasn't sure.

Did Voldemort realize Harry was a Horcrux after he killed him?
Voldemort wasn't aware of Harry being a pseudo-horcrux because he didn't plan it, and Harry didn't know either until Voldemort “killed” him, but he actually killed the piece of soul kept in him.
Notably, Voldemort appeared to be entirely unaware of this split, as he later created a seventh Horcrux in his quest to have six, and continued to target Harry Potter despite him now holding part of Voldemort's own soul.
Although it seems like an act of betrayal, Snape kills Dumbledore simply because the elder asked him to, when the opportunity came. We know — it's absolutely bonkers! However, when you think about it, the plan actually makes sense.

Albus Dumbledore's fatal injury was caused by a curse on the Peverell ring, which may have contained more secrets as a Horcrux. The curse on the ring may have transferred Voldemort's soul to Dumbledore's body, making him a vessel for the Dark Lord.
The books explain it well, mutilating one's soul is something that debilitates the body and soul of those who create Horcruxs, making too many is dangerous which is why Voldemort didn't make others, which is why over time he becomes less human but more similar to a snake.
Lucius Malfoy had a strong dislike of Albus Dumbledore. This is due to two reasons – Dumbledore believed in Muggle rights which contradicted Malfoy's pure blood beliefs. In addition, Lucius was a Death Eater, so he believed that Lord Voldemort was a much more powerful wizard than Dumbledore.
It just made him unimaginably thirsty, which progressed into hallucinations. Yes, Dumbledore could have still survived, but remember that his lifespan was already short as it was: by putting on the cursed ring, he had a few months at best to live.
Albus Dumbledore forced Voldemort to retreat; the duel ended with the inability of Voldemort to maintain possession of Harry Potter and the arrival of Ministry Aurors and Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge.

Snape was actually a double agent working for Dumbledore, who requested Snape to kill him anyway to spare him of a painful and humiliating death.
By Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, it's a stretch to call Draco a villain anymore. We just watched — or read — him struggle to reconcile his choices and morals in The Half-Blood Prince. He can no longer justify his actions, and is far more aware of the evil he was born and raised into.
The prophecy is mentioned throughout the series, however, it never exclusively mentions that Harry is The Chosen One and suggests Neville was another option. However, one theory explains why, in reality, this wasn't possible.
On confirming Draco's very much alive status, she plainly lied that Harry Potter was "dead". This action of hers was both very crucial and important, not only for Harry's survival but for Voldemort's final defeat as well, thus ensuring Harry was again protected by a mother's love, although indirectly.
Severus Snape is also a half-blood (he gave himself the nickname "The Half-Blood Prince"), as his father Tobias Snape was a Muggle. Harry himself is a half-blood, since his pure-blood father, James, married a Muggle-born witch named Lily, and his maternal grandparents were Muggles.
