“It's always just trying to see what different look or outfit we can give Chucky to keep that character evolving,” Hedlund said. “It's another way to put another spin on Chucky because he is hindered in his ability to kill and enact mischief.

Let's be honest, he's gained some weight on his face. Turns out it's a clever ruse. In a dramatic moment, it's revealed that Chucky put on some makeup to hide his facial scars. He's still the same killer doll that was put through an industrial fan and sewed back together.
Chucky made his first appearance in the 1988 film Child's Play. In the film, a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray, aka Chucky (Brad Dourif) uses a voodoo ritual inside a toy store to transfer his soul into a Good Guy doll to escape from Detective Mike Norris (Chris Sarandon).
The Chuckys reveal that the original Chucky found a voodoo spell on the internet which allowed him to separate his soul into multiple host bodies, creating a "cult." Alice was one host, but she was killed. The dolls then kill Carlos.
The Child's Play franchise is known for its brutal, high kill counts. Racking up the kills together from all seven movies, Chucky has killed a total of 67 people.
Chucky insists the child is a boy and should be called Glen, while Tiffany argues that they're a girl and should be named Glenda. When asked, the doll replies they don't know what they are. During the film, the doll switches between identifying as Glen and Glenda and changes their pronouns and presentation accordingly.
Tiffany Valentine as she appears in Seed of Chucky. As a human, Tiffany has platinum blonde hair, a gothic fashion style, and a chest tattoo of a bleeding heart with 'Chucky' written above it. After becoming a doll, Tiffany gives herself a makeover so as to better resemble her human self.
The battle between the Glen and Glenda personas continues, with Glen being a nice boy that doesn't like violence, and Glenda being a sadistic killer like her parents. Eventually, Tiffany decides to give up killing to raise her child, but Chucky refuses.
Chucky and Tiffany had, unknowingly to Jennifer, been planning to use her and Redman as their new bodies. In order to get Glen's soul into a human body, Chucky's semen is inserted by Tiffany into Jennifer so she can bear a child for Glen to use.
Chucky and Tiffany make plans to transfer their souls into Redman and Jennifer. Tiffany knocks them out and uses a turkey baster to inseminate Jennifer with Chucky's semen, intending to use her baby as a host for Glen's soul.
Charles performs a Voodoo spell using an amulet, the Heart of Damballa, that transfers his consciousness out of his human body and into the doll's "body." With that, Charles Lee Ray dies and lives again as Chucky, the killer doll ... and he digs it!
Kyle follows Chucky and Andy to the factory, where Chucky knocks Andy unconscious and attempts the ritual to transfer his soul into Andy. However, Chucky is able to finish the chant until suddenly, his nose starts to bleed.
It's possible that Chucky didn't actually love Sarah and was just using her as an experiment to see how families work. Chucky's main goal was to start a family with Tiffany but he didn't know how families worked which is why he needed an observation to see how families work by using Sarah.
Continuity. At the end of the first movie when Chucky is burnt, his left eye is there and his right is melted shut. But at the beginning of this movie, when they are cleaning him, his left eye is gone and his right eye is opened and there.
In the Seed of Chucky (2004), Tiffany was pesting Chucky all throughout the movie to stop the killings and focus on family. Chucky wanted to keep being a serial killer. Towards the bedroom scene when Jennifer gives birth, Tiffany stated that she was tired of Chucky's unwillingness to change and walked out on him.
Inspired by the Ed Wood-directed film Glen or Glenda, Seed of Chucky introduced the twins as split personalities who possessed one doll. Glen was the sweet mama's boy with a heart of gold while Glenda was the daddy's girl with a taste for blood.
The child identifies as a girl to their mother and a boy to their father, a bit thoughtfully attributed to their self-projections and indiscernible genitalia. Chucky and Tiffany name their child Glen and Glenda, respectively, a nod to Ed Wood's eponymous 1953 trans drama.
Now going by "Tiffany Ray", Tiffany plans to transport her soul into the body of Jennifer Tilly (who happens to be playing her in the film). They also plan to impregnate her and put Glen's soul in the baby's body. Their plan is successful, as Jennifer swiftly gives birth to two babies, a boy and a girl.
Following the events of “Bride of Chucky,” Tiffany, in doll form, gave birth to a child who was born a doll rather than just a soul trapped in one like their parents. Glen grows up and is introduced in “Seed of Chucky” as a sweet child who doesn't share their parents' appetite for murder.
A lot of people think that Chucky is just using Tiffany and that he has no affection for her. However, this isn't the case if you look into it enough. Chucky does love Tiffany, he just doesn't try to act like a teddy bear around her. This is evident throughout the franchise.
In Chucky, flashbacks (which are expanded upon to include a birthday party) put Charles Lee Ray around 8 years old in 1965. As such, the character was born in 1957 and is subsequently 31 at the time of his original human death.
While there have been plenty of imitators, Brad Dourif is the OG. In fact, Dourif is as synonymous with Chucky as his creator, Don Mancini. So much so that Dourif's own daughter has gone on to make her own mark on the franchise ...
The character plays on the classic fear of creepy, humanoid dolls that enter the uncanny valley. What makes him so scary is his ability to blend into many environments seamlessly, the fact that most people wouldn't believe that a doll could be alive, and his persistence.
