Thor (When Banished) Thor himself has even been unable to lift Mjolnir in the MCU at one point after Odin punished him for his arrogance and for threatening the peace the Allfather had carefully crafted in the Nine Realms.
After Nick Fury whispered Thor a revelation that consolidated the God of Thunder's deepest belief, that of Gorr the God-Butcher being right about claiming the gods were selfish and uncaring for mortals, Thor lost his confidence about his godhood and consequently his ability to wield Mjolnir.
But Nick Fury, always prepared, had a way to take out the do-gooders. In the case of Thor, all it took was a whisper of the simple phrase, “Gorr was right.” After hearing this, Thor was unable to wield Mjolnir. He was rendered unworthy, because in his heart he believed what Fury said was true.
In one notable modern storyline, centering on Thor's relationship with Mjolnir, the God of Thunder lost his ability to lift the hammer after becoming convinced that humanity doesn't need its gods, robbing him of his divine purpose.

Is Thor weaker without Mjolnir?
Mjolnir more so focuses his powers, yet Ragnarok proved hes just as powerful with Mjolnir. Strength wise we saw him battle Hulk evenly without Mjolnir or Stormbreaker, and even take the full force of a dying star without either weapons.
Stormbreaker has the additional power to summon the Bifröst, allowing Thor to teleport anywhere in the Nine Realms. Screen Rant has identified Stormbreaker as the more powerful of the two, based on this ability, as well as it being a much larger and edged weapon.
Clearly, Thanos is aware he wouldn't be able to lift it. Although it's hard to pinpoint what exactly makes someone worthy of using Mjolnir, as it's ultimately determined by Odin, who placed the enchantment on the hammer, some believe one's worthiness is measured by traits like courage, honor, and selflessness.
This arguable arrogance may have also contributed to being unable to lift Mjolnir. Likewise, the Hulk was, at the time, a rampaging beast, lacking much else in the way of personality. Thus, he had no morality or sense of justice, being ethically unworthy of Mjolnir's might.
Is Captain America with Mjolnir stronger than Thor?
Thor is, again, the God of thunder, so his powers are basically unmatchable. In summary, no. Chances are that Captain America won't be able to fight and successfully beat Thor, even with the Mjolnir. Thor is much stronger than Cap, even if he is a super soldier.
It wasn't until 2016's Unworthy Thor #5, by Jason Aaron, Olivier Coipel, Kim Jacinto and Pascal Alixe, that Thor finally revealed that the words Fury had said to him were simply, "Gorr was right."
There's been confusion among fans about whether or not Loki is worthy of wielding Thor's hammer, but Marvel has finally confirmed that the God of Mischief can indeed lift Mjolnir. The Immortal Thor #4 complicated the issue of Loki's worthiness by not allowing him to solely be the one to lift Mjolnir.
However, the film also implies that the hammer only sees Jane as worthy because Thor unintentionally revised the rules of Mjölnir, giving it the power to protect her. Captain America didn't need anything special for the hammer to see him as worthy – he's able to wield it without issue in Avengers: Endgame.
Steve Rogers is worthy. Probably more worthy than Thor. When he held the hammer, he realised that he could lift it. There is no other explanation why he would be able to move the hammer just a little.
It's important to note that the rules around worthiness had been temporarily suspended to allow this to happen. As soon as the fight was over, Superman couldn't lift the hammer anymore. However, under normal circumstances, without any weird interference, Superman is worthy of Mjolnir.
In the former movie, it was likely Tony's narcissism and lack of humility that contributed to his “unworthiness.” These attributes did, however, make him a hero. After saving the world, making a play to sacrifice himself, and defeating Thanos' army, he was not able to lift Mjolnir in Age of Ultron.

Could Thor have beaten Thanos by himself if he was fit in Endgame? Yes. Thor at his peak could have beaten Thanos by himself. One hit from him using Stormbreaker would mortally wound Thanos.
But as it turns out, it was not just Thor's strength. After all, no weapon in existence should be able to stop the combined power of the Infinity Stones, no matter how powerful the wielder is. Turns out, Thanos was taken unawares. He had just incapacitated all the heroes who tried to stop him.
The movie doesn't explain Thor's motivations for giving up Stormbreaker, but it makes sense that Chris Hemsworth simply wanted Love to have a powerful weapon to aid her in battle. It's unlikely that he could give her Mjolnir, considering that so few people in the MCU have been deemed worthy of its power.
