First Love — Bill Hader confirmed that Eddie was the first person Richie romantically loved. Internalized Categorism — Internalized Homophobia, due to growing up in a small, close-minded town and, in Eddie's case, being incredibly confused and afraid of sexuality.
In the adaptation of It Chapter Two, Richie is portrayed as being secretly in love with Eddie Kaspbrak until the latter's death, and Eddie remained unaware of these feelings.
We learn that Richie Tozier, the fast-talking, foul-mouthed teenager (played by Finn Wolfhard) who grew up to be a popular stand-up comedian (Bill Hader) is gay and has been secretly in love with his friend and fellow club member Eddie Kaspbrak (played as an adult by James Ransone).
Well, the simple answer would be an emphatic no. As was demonstrated in IT Chapter One, the pair were close in the book — with Richie even going on to kiss Eddie on the cheek following his sacrifice. However, there was nothing to imply that their dynamic was anything but a deep friendship.
Many headcanon that Eddie is present for the completion/addition of the 'E' after the defeat of Pennywise, for added closure and confirmation that Richie's romantic feelings were not only acknowledged, but reciprocated. To the lower left, it is also notable that there is an 'R' carved within a heart.

Throughout the series' run, Richie remained best friends with Fonzie, Ralph Malph, and Potsie Weber. He was always ready to help them out of trouble. He also looked after his younger sister Joanie as she grew up.
The leper is representative of Eddie's fear of disease. When seeing the leper, Eddie felt that if it had touched him he would instantly catch every disease that it had and rot from the inside out.
One of those attacks resulted in Losers Club member Eddie breaking his arm while trying to get away from It; he is left with a heavy-duty cast, which a bully defaces with a big old "loser." So Eddie attempted a little DIY redecoration, by turning the word into a makeshift "lover."
Richie was the most light-hearted member of the Losers' Club. The fear and terror didn't take control of him like it did the others. Richie had the nickname, "Trashmouth," for his constant use of foul language. That mouth frequently got him in troubles with adults and bullies in town, like Henry Bowers.
“Beep beep, Richie,” Stan hissed, elbowing his friend sharply in the ribs and hoping none of the other losers had heard his comment. Richie had caught Stan eyeing Bill a few times now and, while Stan had still refused to admit it out loud, incessantly teased him about his crush.
In IT, Richie (played by Finn Wolfhard) admits to his friends that he's terrified of clowns, which is coincidentally the default form that Pennywise takes on. However, in both the book and the 1990 miniseries, his greatest fear is a werewolf, and cutting this from his battle with Pennywise was a mistake.
Richie's trauma was never really explored in the first film. Richie swears he never even saw Pennywise, which is revealed to be a lie in Chapter 2. But only to the audience, not to the rest of the Losers Club.
Molly Atkinson reprises her role as Sonia, Eddie's Munchausen syndrome by proxy-stricken mother, and also plays Eddie's wife Myra, who is very similar to Sonia.
After the losers destroy Pennywises lair, It is never explained if the police or other public figures ever find his body, and his body is just left there. Eddie had a wife and they would have wanted her to know, but it's never explained in the film if she was even told and his body was just ignored.
In the novel, it can be assumed that Richie suffers from Tourette syndrome as he is described to not have much control of the things he says or when he says them. However, his hyperactivity seems to have been toned down in the 2017 adaptation.
For Eddie, life is full of danger and avoidance is the best strategy. When he faces Pennywise, the clown takes the form of Eddie's greatest fear: a germy, decomposing leper.
He was also nicknamed "Trashmouth", as he was foul-mouthed and loud, as he accidently insulted Henry Bowers and his gang. In the novel, it's assumed that he has ADHD, as it's stated that doesn't have much control of what he says or does.

It (1990) As in the novel, Henry and the Bowers Gang are portrayed as the local bullies and antagonistic classmates of the Losers' Club, though only Patrick Hockstetter's absent from this adaptation.
