After Aurora returned to her parents' castle, she sat alone in a room, crying over not being able to see the man she met and fallen in love with again due to learning she had been betrothed, though she didn't know the same man was actually Phillip.
She happily returns home to tell her three godmothers about her new love but is heartbroken to find out she's really a princess, already betrothed to someone, and that she must return to the castle.

What is Aurora's secret name?
While Tchaikovsky referred to his princess as "Aurora", the Brothers Grimm had named her "Little Briar Rose"; this ultimately inspired Disney to use both names in the film, the latter of which serves as the character's alias while she is hiding from Maleficent.
It's a significant departure that Aurora (Elle Fanning) is awakened not by a kiss from Prince Phillip (Brenton Thwaites), but instead by a kiss from the villainous Maleficent (Angelina Jolie).
