Makima is an extreme fan of Chainsaw Man, the "Hero of Hell". Fascinated by its ability to wipe out the embodied concept of a Devil through consuming them, her stated goal is to bring Chainsaw Man under her control in order to use its abilities to create an ideal world without fear, death, and “bad” movies.
Instead, Makima simply admires Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil and one of the most powerful devils ever to exist. She dislikes Denji and thinks he does not deserve to be united with the Chainsaw Man and only views him as a means to an end, which is why she decides to be nice to him.
However, for all the atrocities that she had committed towards Denji, it was then revealed that Makima herself had grown an infatuation towards the entity that was sealed in Denji's body, the Chainsaw Man, by admitting that she was a huge admirer towards the entity and it's power and tries her best to make the entity ...
Every moment the audience views Makima from Denji's eyes, she is portrayed as beautiful and unobtainable. She does everything in her power to make sure it stays that way, giving him a reason to need her. Right from Chainsaw Man's beginning, Makima is relying on her likability to get everything she'd ever wanted.
Meanwhile, Makima reveals to Kishibe that Pochita is able to erase a devil's existence and the concept they represent by eating them, and that she's planning to fight him in order to defeat and control his power with the aim of erasing concepts that she deems unnecessary for humankind.
It is also shown that Makima has an elitist view of Denji, perceiving him as nothing but an obstacle to meeting Chainsaw Man while also perceiving him as unworthy of the title as she judges from the way he talks, his mannerisms and his appearance.
Makima was obsessed with Chainsaw Man, which is why she took such a liking to Denji. She wanted to own the devil and use its power to bring about a new world by erasing the War, Famine, and Death Devils.
The Chainsaw Devil is perhaps the only individual Makima has ever shown genuine interest or affection towards. Furthermore, Pochita is one of the only people whom she does not believe to be beneath her due to his legendary status and power.
Pochita's true Devil form is of a large, humanoid Devil with four arms and a chainsaw protruding from each, with another chainsaw coming from the front of his head, similar to Denji's hybrid form. An intestine still connected to his stomach is wrapped around his neck, resembling a scarf or a collar.
In some of the earliest chapters, she invades Denji's personal space, forces him to grope her, and basically promises him sex/a relationship as a reward, in order to motivate him to do his work. This is perhaps the most clear example of Makima grooming Denji.
Denji has always been unlucky in love, but Asa Mitaka offers his first real chance at romance. Asa's dynamic with Denji showcases a healthier relationship than his past love interests like Makima, Reze, and Power. Asa's development as the co-protagonist in Part 2 positions her as a potential true love for Denji.
Asa is Denji's latest love interest, and quite possibly the most likely to actually end up with him in the long run. In some ways, she is a good contrast to Denji, but at the same time, her introverted personality doesn't seem to mesh as well with Denji's as Reze's did.
When introduced, Reze initially appears to be a kind and gentle girl who has a crush on Denji soon after meeting him, taking interest in him at first sight and was portrayed to be as somewhat enthusiastic, as shown when both Denji and her have a drink of coffee at the Café she had worked at.
Makima went to exterminate the Zombie Devil but saw someone beat her to it. She then saw Denji as Chainsaw Man and told him he had a smell neither human nor devil and asked him who he was, but he only told her to hug him. As she did, Denji turned back into a human.
As revealed in Chapter 87 of the manga, Pochita was in a battle with the four horsemen group of devils before reaching a near-death situation. In its weakened state, Pochita adopted a cute dog-like look and met Denji (protagonist).
Makima. Makima and Denji shared an asymmetrical relationship: whereas Denji was greatly infatuated with Makima and willing to go to great lengths to serve her, Makima saw Denji as nothing more than a pet and tool, taking interest in him solely for the fact that the Chainsaw Devil Pochita resided in his heart.
Power and Denji don't have a very romantic relationship, instead more so an awkward sibling relationship. While he finds Power attractive, it doesn't take long for the two to butt heads. Upon their first meeting, she makes a deal with Denji that if he's able to retrieve her cat, she'll let him feel her up.
When Makima fought with the supposed “Denji” and ripped him apart to get access to Pochita, she had actually been fighting Pochita himself all along. Denji is seen taking her remains with him and eating her in his apartment.
Denji is betrayed by the yakuza, who kill him for a contract with the Zombie Devil. Pochita makes a contract with Denji, merging with him as a human-devil Hybrid, under the condition that Denji shows his dreams to Pochita.
Because she couldn't see him as anything beyond Chainsaw Man, he managed to get a sneak attack on her. Utilizing his last-minute contract with Power, Denji slices Makima with a chainsaw made of Power's blood to keep Makima from regenerating.
Makima's age is totally unknown, though fans can estimate her rough age. Based on Makima's appearance, voice, position of authority, and how other people speak to her, she is probably in her mid-20s — possibly a bit older, though probably not much older than 30.
Power eventually develops strong affection for Denji, even going so far as to deny Makima's wishes and put her own life on the line to keep him safe. Power considers Denji to be her very first friend, and so values him highly.
Power becomes a mentor figure to Denji, teaching him how to control his powers and strategize during battles. Through their interactions and battles, it becomes clear that Power cares for Denji's well-being and wants to see him succeed.
Many fans believe that the reason Denji has shark teeth is that he fused with Pochita. Since Pochita himself had sharp teeth, fans believe that Denji having fused with him caused him to get shark teeth, which become even more evident when he becomes Chainsaw Man.
