Victor Fries (pronounced "freeze") as a scientist in Gotham City who suffers a lab accident while trying to cryogenically preserve his terminally ill wife, Nora. He turns to crime to fund his research in his obsessive quest to cure Nora by any means necessary, which brings him into conflict with Batman.
Mr. Freeze had to kidnap several women who matched his late wife's characteristics, in both mental and physical states, going as far as modifying their DNA to hers to experiment with the vial before reviving his wife. In the end, it worked, and his wife came back to life cured.
When Batman was alive, Freeze and Batman made a deal for Mr. Freeze to stop doing crimes and in exchange Batman would help him with his research. Once Batman died and Freeze lost his income of resources for his research, Mr. Freeze continued to do many crimes.

In reality, the accident that had caused his "immortality" had actually deteriorated his body. Though his head was able to continue functioning, the rest of him withered away. He constructed an insect-like robotic carriage for his head, as well as a larger shell resembling his human form.

Nora became terminally ill, and to stop her degenerative disease from taking her life, Victor put her into suspended animation. His devotion to Nora led to his downfall.
Once the most human of Batman's rogues in the animated canon, Mr. Freeze now wrecked havoc and destruction amid a plot to encase Gotham City in ice. While seemingly ageless, cellular deterioration overtook his body, leaving Freeze little more than a head in a suit.
Before becoming Mr. Freeze, Victor Fries was an average human being with short black hair, blue eyes and a medium build. After his mutation, Freeze's skin was turned white, and his eyes were completely red.
The first version of the cryo-suit was an "air conditioned" costume, designed by Mister Zero in order to help him remain in temperatures below zero. The suit was equipped with a special glass helmet connected to a gas tank located on the back of the suit.
Freeze goggles are a pair of protective goggles used by Victor Fries as Mr. Freeze. The user who wears them has their eyes protected from the flashes and reflection given off the Freeze Gun.
If batman funds Mr. Freeze's research then the money that is earned from being successful will go back to Wayne Enterprises, back into batman' pocket. Also it keeps Mr. Freeze at bay by being able to keep his wife alive and not terrorizing Gotham.
