Ultimately, the exploration of gender identity was pared down, possibly due to studio influence, and Switch was played by one actress, Belinda McCrory (below). She dressed in an all-white leather suit in the Matrix to "illuminate" Switch's role as the guard of the crew.

Nemo is a boy at the moment. He's referred to repeatedly as 'son' in the film, and clownfish start out their lives as male anyway. He may at some point in his life turn female - clownfish start out as male and then can turn female as conditions require - but that's not shown in the scope of the movies.
The renegades and the Agents always wear sunglasses in the Matrix. Sunglasses hide the eyes and reflect those who are being looked at. The removal of sunglasses signals that a character is gaining a new or different perspective, or that he or she is vulnerable or exposed in some way.
The idea is that the world is “sick,” and the filmmakers communicated that in a visual way. The colors can also be interpreted as a reference to older computer monitors that displayed monotone green text. The monotone color grade may reference the monotony of life in a prison.
The Woman in the Red Dress is as she was for Neo, not real. She was designed to distract and satiate. She is not interested in your long-term success but merely in distracting you for the benefit of the machines. Consider this part of your ongoing training and reminder that the machines are everywhere.
In the video game Enter The Matrix, Persephone encounters and takes a kiss from either Niobe or Ghost (depending on whose story the player follows). She seems to be able to deduce the feelings and emotions of those she kisses, noting Niobe's love for Morpheus, or Ghost's unrequited love for Trinity.
Connecting the symbolism of the woman in The Matrix to their own lives, the Scarlet Woman represents a lure within our own worldly construct - be it rampant consumerism, or pre-programmed choices of a murkier sort. Although only 20 years pass inside the Matrix simulation between parts three and four, 60 years actually pass in the real world. This would make Neo's age in the real world in The Matrix Resurrections 97 instead of 57 years old.
